The Jets Stream - NY Daily News

"When I said that about Belichick, I'm just letting him know I'm not intimidated by him. He's got the same position I have. We're both head coaches in this league. He just happens to have a hell of a lot more Super Bowl wins; I don't have a win. I understand that, but we're not going to tip toe our way through this thing. You don't line up and beat a Bill Belichick-coached team by tip toeing in there.

Re: Rex Ryan verbal attacks Patriots and BB AGAIN

i frankly dont understand his incense....i mean it doesnt much on the field but really why does he have to keep talking about another coach and team and provocatively...maybe its his inspirational technique
iam just worried about dirty phycial play from the jets defense like the ravens teams..

Re: Rex Ryan verbally attacks Patriots and BB AGAIN

I just read the article, and I don't see where Rex Ryan verbally attacks anybody.

Seems like more of a compliment than an attack imo.

Well from that game the Patriots played back in 07 aginst the Ravens I bet anything you can expect a lot of grabbing and late hits just to throw the Patriots off their gamevs. the Jets this season. That game in particular in Baltimore featured a LOT OF HOLDING that went uncalled. I guess if a team does a lot of it the refs know they can't call a penalty every time.

I agree, he's just defending his past comments and actually did a good job explaining where he's coming from. Showed respect towards Belichick but said trying to tiptoe into the game means your gonna lose !

***** UPDATED TITLE OF THREAD ******* Not so much of a verbal attack but it's clear the Patriots are heavy on that dudes mind.

Re: Rex Ryan verbally attacks Patriots and BB AGAIN

I didn't see much wrong with this but from his previous yapping he seems to be cooking his team for dinner when we play them.

He's not a bright guy, though I don't see his latest comment as an attack or anything. Why does he have to talk crap to make himself feel like he's not intimidated? Does anyone thing Belichick is intimidated by any of the other coaches? Yet when he's asked about any coach he always responds like they're the second coming of Bill Walsh. Ryan's going to learn that sometimes what you say has to be different from what you think.

Of course they are, the Pats are considered by some to be the best team in the league nevermind the AFC East. Also, I'm pretty sure everytime the Pats come up in an interview, it's in response to a question about them from the media. So in this case, I think it's the media making something out of nothing to get web hits !

And the Patriots should be heavy on their mind. Regardless of who won the AFC East last year, NE is the HEAVY favorite this year. The regular season goal is to in the division, and for the Jets to do that, they gotta beat NE.

Sure, Rex may talk too much, but you can't expect him to concede. He's an NFL coach, his job is to put his team in the best position to win on game day.

Ryan is cut from the same cloth as his old man.

A self promoting wind bag who believes even bad publicity is better than no publicity at all.

He didn't saying anything wrong.....question is why say anything at all?

Even Jets fans on their boards are saying they like his style but if they don't win, the act will get very old...very quick.

 Brace yourself! (I'm going to agree with you twice in one week.)

He always seems like he's got a chip on his shoulder and his defences have always played like they had too. Unfortunately for our eyes and ears this is just his personality in football.

Well, technically it's not a chip on his should, it's just crumbs from eating too many chips.

Just keep talking Tubby Wrecks. Just keep talking....
