OK... Its the pre-season, but there is football on.. And you are going to tape delay the Cincy vs. Pats game until 11 pm eastern so you can show the making of the 2006, 2007 and 2008 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Swimsuit Calendar shoot?

And the NFL Network wonders why people don't take it seriously.. Those shoots should be shown as FILLER from 11 pm through 6 am.. Not when you have the chance to show a game live...

My guess is the NFL network isn't allowed to air it live because the local affiliates payed for the rites to show the game.

Maybe there's some legal reason they need to wait until the game is over ? I'd love to see it live but from a selfish standpoint, 8pm pacific works very nicely.

Fox has a national TV game Thursday night - Eagles/Colts.

The NFL is not going to do anything that would steal even 1 viewer from a primetime game being televised nationally by one of its TV partners.

So, what's their excuse during the season? They steal from eachother all the time..

Also, what is the likelihood of people who don't care for the Eagles or Colts to actually watch that game? I know that I won't be watching it..

I obviously don't know what the contract says but I would have to bet contractually they can't show the game live for one reason or another.

This is what I get for not refreshing a stale thread before posting in it.

When does the NFL ever show two games on TV against each other during primetime during the regualr season or playoffs?

Justintv will solve all your problems, I have NFL network but I wanted to watch the game live and that site was the next best thing until it was re aired.

NFL-N doesn't show games up against live games during the season either. They show filler. NFL OnDemand is not available while a live game is being played too. I would assume this is within the NFL tv deal.

I have the same problem (as well as others outside the New England region), DaBruinz. I agree.

Can I add another rant to this thread? First, let me say that I'd rather not see commercials at all. But, if I must watch commercials, I don't want to see the same three over and over and over again. "Coach Shula... Coach Lombardi... Coach Cowher... Coach Dave", "THIS ONE'S... FOR JOHN!", "We did it". The one with Kurt Warner talking about how P.E. is getting eliminated from Public Schools across America is the newest one beginning to annoy me. I care about the topic, but not when it's been drilled into the ground 10+ times during one 30-minute program!!!

This came up in another thread. It was pretty entertaining. Most of us could recite the commercials word for word. Entertaining may not be the right word for that after all...
