Curran's on WEEI today, and he is taking his penitent beating about the Brady article. What I found interesting was his comment that he's spoken to Brady about it and explained his side, and that Brady basically told him "No problem".

Brady seems, by all accounts, a very easy-going guy and not one to hold a grudge, particularly not someone he has a good working relationship w/, which he does seem to have w Curran.

Plus, there's also the possibility that there was some truth to bits of Curran's article and that Brady just overcame the odds. The surgeon himself said he healed twice as fast as the normal athlete would.

Did Curran elaborate on the article, his source, etc?

Does he need to?

Curran's job isn't to report the facts, or to be accurate, or to be insightful, its to generate page hits, and I think people forget that sometimes.

News is a business these days, and its driven by advertising.

I'll report that to William Randolph Hearst.

I wish that if Curran's source is in fact the disgruntled medical staff that Adam Schefter has heard was spreading false information on Brady that he outed him. I know that would never happen because Curran will never out a source even if they give him bad info.

They're talking about football on WEEI???

I'll report that to William Randolph Hearst.
He'll be the one selling ad space to maintain the castle.

This cat begging money was spotted in one of the cities of Belarus. He stays on one place with a note that reads “need money for meat and fish, bless you”. He doesn’t leave his place and protects the money just with his sight. His owner was found nearby. It was an old lady. She told the story that she had rescued the cat from the slaughters, but at that time she had already owned some pets and couldn’t feed them all, so he decided to let the pets earn the money for themselves.

I'll report that to William Randolph Hearst.

He believed that as much as anybody, except for the technological differences between the eras.

Anyhow, reporters and analysts make mistakes. Evidently, Curran's not trying to run or hide from his.

I know, why aren't we talking about Ortiz' slump or runners stealing on Penny 24x7?? Man, EEI has been unbearable of late...football season is upon us and it can't get one minute in thanks to the most uninspiring, boring & tedious Red Sox team in recent memory.

Well, they did for about 5-10 minutes or so before they got back to Red Sox talk. WEEI gotta pay lipservice to football every week or so. Probably talk football because there are a lot football, non-football stories to talk about. Favre unretiring. Mike Vick's 60 minutes interview. Tom Cable punching out his assistant. Lots of Xs and Os to break down on the proper way to break an assistant coaches jaw.

Actually, MoLewisRocks is actually trying to prove they talk football, not that they don't. He disagrees with you.

Personally, I agree with you. He doesn't.

They talked about the Brady story and the Favre story. And, it should be pointed out, they're talking Favre again as we speak.

It's the offseason, and the Red Sox are the #1 team in Boston. Expecting them to talk all afternoon about a walkthrough of the Patriots, which is all that they did today, would be the expectations of a diseased mind.

Your real gripe is that Boston is a baseball town and that baseball translates better to talk radio than football does. You just take it out on WEEI. I've been listening to the other station and, not surprisingly, they're doing the same thing.

Just as a follow up.... they are now talking about Michael Vick.

More football.

Well, as long as they talk Favre, I am happy. God forbid they actually dedicate a half an hour here and there for the Patriots. But hey, who in Boston cares about the Pats when we can talk Favre. WEEI is the only sports station I know that talks one team 70-80% of the time over the given year.

Yes, this is a baseball town, but it isn't like the Red Sox are that far ahead of the Patriots in popularity. WEEI is a Red Sox radio station. 98.5 dedicates far more time to the Pats. So does 890. Actually, the best Patriots talk in this town in the past week or so is on the DA show on 98.5 at night. Stop kidding yourself. WEEI is far more skewed Red Sox than the Boston public or any sports show (radio or TV) in this town. They are the only ones who basically ignored training camp all together until the first Preseason game.

Absolutely right. 162 game season. A game every day or every other day. Plenty of material to grind through the mouth mill. 162 to 16, which makes for more radio yak time?

If you could choose which sport to be your favorite, it's hard to beat baseball for the sheer volume of it. Imagine a 162-game football season. Would be glorious excess.

What position is he playing for the Pats again?

I am completely and utterly shocked that the only time WEEI talks football during the preseason is basically to discuss hotbutton league issues that are low hanging fruit topics where they don't have to actually talk football to talk football. I can't wait until they breakdown the gameplan that the Eagles run to penetrate PETAs defense.

Again, talk to me when they give more than lipservice to the Patriots, not this football. 98.5 has no problem doing it. Tanguay and Zo had no problem talking Patriots football today. DA last night dedicated most of his entire 5 hours last night talking Patriots.

NOTHING IS HAPPENING AT PATRIOTS CAMP TODAY. They did talk about Brady, however.

I hope that helps.

The reality of this market can be a difficult pill to swallow, personally would like it to change.... but doubt it ever will.

Did the Pats start training camp. I listen to WEEI and as far as I can tell training camp should start around the first week of September when they actually acknowledge the Patriots have a team.

Sorry, your response is a failure because WEEI rarely talks the Patriots in August. The rest of the world is talking football, but WEEI rather talk real sports like Ortiz's drug test and Vick and PETA. The more I listen to the new radio station even with mediocre hosts in many cases, the more I hate WEEI because there is real football talk to talk about but other than Holley, they don't don't have the hosts who can generate Patriots talk without games. There is plenty of issues to talk about with the Pats.

Not difficult at all. There are alternatives to WEEI now who realize the Pats are almost as popular as the the Red Sox and aren't afraid to talk about it.
