Re: Next Pats coach-stay away from the BB tree.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but why is it a "bombshell" that Marshall is dissatisfied?

Its no surprise at all, the guy is in the last year of his contract and with Cutler gone he has to depend on Kyle Orton to deliver to him ergo his numbers will suffer and he has less bargaining power at the end of this season so he wants to get sorted now.

Re: Next Pats coach-stay away from the BB tree.

Profootballtalk reporting jaime dukes says a bombshell is coming from the broncos tonight. Mcdaniels is an idiot. He had a decent foundation and slashed everything. Mangini, romeo, weiss, saban etc have failed pretty badly. The trend shows to stay away from that tree.

Romeo failed because Phil Savage is was horrible at providing quality players for that team. Not to mention dumb players like Kellen Winslow II.. Then creating the QB controversy...

As for McDaniels, he's not the GM out there. While he should get some of the blame, contrary to whiny Cutler, it was Tampa Bay that approached Xanders about doing a 3 way with New England...

As for the rest of the team, they had a horrible defensive line and questions at safety. Last year they had like 6 running backs on the IR... a couple of whom only got to play in one game before suffereing a season ending injury... They had a couple of their O-linemen retire..

Yes, they had Cutler, Royal, Marshall, and Stokeley. But they had a ton of questions going forward.

Somehow, it's become pigskin gospel that Denver was a championchip team caliber team with a "franchise" QB. The reality is they were a disfunctional organization with punk taking snaps.

It appears pat Bowlen reviewed the debacle of the past few years and decided a total makeover was required. He is correct. An organization that has Cutler and Marshall as "leaders" also would have Jarvis Moss, Travis Henry, and Maurice Clarrett as draft picks.

Also, Dukes sucks. He is back at with Cassel. Either he is truly stupid or doesn't understand dropped passes on the numbers isn't the QB's fault.

Re: Next Pats coach-stay away from the BB tree.

I would pinch my nipples as hard as I could and scream like a woman if that happened. Randy Moss, Brandon Marshall, Wes Welker, Joey Galloway, and Greg Lewis in one receiving corps?! It most likely won't happen but still... it's nice to dream.

LMFAO!!

This has become the trend where the last year in a contract has no meaning at all. Hey, you signed a contract for 4 years, you better hold up your side of the bargain.

You gotta believe that Shannahan knew this situation was coming with Denver dropping off, and bailed at just the right time.

"Hey guys, Cutler is unhappy and that pesky Marshall contract is coming up. Fire me so I don't have to deal with it".

It's too early to judge on McDaniels. The Broncos are a team that was already in need of rebuilding so maybe it's not a bad thing to stockpile some high draft picks in exchange for a couple players.

That being said... Weis was a disaster, RC was a disaster, Mangini was a disaster, a rat, and has boobs. The BB tree I would definately stay away from.

So, it was his fault that Cutler was asking for a trade before he was hired?

So he asked for a trade! That doesn't mean that the new coach should gut the team.

Belichick has trained up a lot of top coordinators who have been greatly overpaid as head coaches. In the end, being an assistant to hands-on Belichick does NOT necessarily prepare you to be a solid head coach.

The coach doesn't make that decision, the GM does. Cutler was shooting his way out of town the moment that Shanahan was fired, and there wasn't really much Mcdaniels could do.

How did the new coach "gut" the team???? They cut Leach, Pinnock, Hackney, and Selvin Young.

I agree with Weiss and Mangini. I don't agree with Romeo because it was clear that Savage was the one making the personnel decisions without much input from Romeo.

hey.. it could happen... :singing:

I'm just saying that, seeing what shape Denver ended up in lasy year, and the minor soap opera that was building there, Shanahan probably wasn't all that upset about being sacked. He's still getting paid, IIRC.
