Unfortunately, I really can't say anything. There's got to be a board member who was at training camp today.........

The much awaited return of Michael Bishop?

Thanks Chris.

I like how you don't devulge inside info. Very cool.

Why do you and others list McKenzie when talking about players not at practice? He's out for the year. What's the point? I have as much chance to make a practice as he does.
:)

Has to be Edelman in the wildcat.

You're such a tease! SBB was there and didn't mention anything. Hm. Almost as interesting as Brandon Marshall trade... j/k

Nope I only made the AM practice today and this happened in the PM one.

figures too....I am really intrigued by what went down.

Someone probably slipped Chris a fiver just to post that. It'll make all the D-Coords mental, and be nothing.

Maybe it was the diamond formation, haha.

SeaBass at TE I bet.

Possibility there but not today as SeaBass was not there as Chris reported.
Wildcat seems more likely for todays session.

I didn't list him once -- ONCE -- and someone e-mailed me asking if McKenzie was there. So I'm sticking to the letter of the law on this one.:D

I would love to offer the info as to what happened, but cannot. They are very specific as to what we can and can't report on, and this definitely fell outside the realm of what we can report. In fact, here's a teachable moment -- here's the handout we get from the Patriots' PR staff:

Practices throughout training camp are open to the media. In your coverage of daily practice sessions, we ask for your cooperation in observing the following practice policies:

1. Please do not report on offensive or defensive strategy. This includes describing formations, personnel groups or non-conventional plays.

2. Please do not quote, paraphrase or report the comments made by coaches or players during a practice session.

3. Please do not report on practice until the practice session and interview period are over.

If there are any questions regarding these policies during a practice session, please ask for clarification from a Patriots media relations representative in advance. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Talk about cloak-and-dagger. Do you get a full body cavity search to boot? Are they giving out missle codes during sessions? If you say anything at all do they send Jason Bourne after you?

Holy crap, Belichick is one iron-fisted Balkan.

The reason Chris can't reveal it was the heat messed with the circuits of the bionic leg...and it turns out it's not Brady's after all!

Posted on another Pats Board:

Hey guys and gals, everyone has been asking if the Patriots will use Julian Edelman in some kind of Wildcat formation, well this afternoon at their practice, they used Edelman as a QB for the first time. It was just a couple of snaps, nothing too long, but he lined as a QB and ran a few plays. He looks very relaxed and comfortable as a WR in the offense. Not so much yet as a QB.

It could be a smokescreen with all the Michael Vick talk now with the Eagles, but who knows?

Check back tomorrow in the Pats Pub and Pool Hall and I'll have a link with pictures since we can't post any here.

Guess that answer everyones question

I don't think that answers everyone's questions--we've always expected Edelman to take at least a few snaps. And we've all speculated on the Wildcat formation. It would be positively amazing if BB didn't give it a try.

But I fully understand why Chris can't tell us any more than he does and I respect it. I greatly appreciate his contributions here.
