The Associated Press: Rex Ryan upset Ravens gave McCrary's 99 to rookie

"With a big grin, Ryan looked over at a cringing Bruce Speight, the team's senior director of public relations, and said, "Sorry, Bruce.".......

".....The teams play at Baltimore next Monday night, when rookie Mark Sanchez makes his first NFL start."

Way to put a price on your 1st Round QB's head, genius.

Heres more proof, i recently read that Ryan would ask for three first rnd picks for Thomas Jones a 30+ year old running back. Now that is out of touch with reality

McCrary retired in 2002. Either retire the number or move on. I guess they've moved on.

I have a hard time seeing how announcing a guy is starting is "putting a price on his head"

(whispering) Umm, read what he's saying in the link......look at the situation......calling out a 2nd round pass rushing DE/LB from another team, dumping over the other team's management, playing the other team in their own building this coming week on MNF, THEN announcing that the prize rookie QB will be starting.

Of course, sounds completely sensible! Wonder why the PR suit from the Jets was cringing?

It's 100% FredEx.

Watching Ryan down here in the ny media is like watching the proverbial slow motion train wreck. it can't be good for Sanchez to have to get his NFL legs in a locker room that is bound to be undisciplined and faction-ridden.

just waiting now for Wrecks to pop off on the sidelines to one of his coaches or a player. Better yet to an opposing player...that would be fun to watch. definitely worth my cable bill for the month.

Anyone else think that Ozzie Newsome was glad that someone else took that idiot off his hands????

I think that Ozzie did the Pats a favor by "letting" the Jets take Rex Ryan...

He got rid of an internal heachache and, almost assuredly, will cause the Jets to languish for a bit..

Rex Ryan opens mouth again to motivate Ravens rookie

I hope Kruger has Sanchez for lunch...and on his way back from the sack I hope he stops at the sidelines to slap pudgy - I don't see McCrary crying all upset to the media and it happens often anyway, ask McGinest about Seau getting his jersey number the following year after he left for Cleveland, rookie or not he needs to shut up.

Re: Rex Ryan opens mouth again to motivate Ravens rookie

I see that we have a duplicate thread..merge em please

Re: Rex Ryan opens mouth again to motivate Ravens rookie

agree on the merge, but the story is so good that it does bear repeating! watching this idiot in the ny press every day is fun...no telling what damage he'll do to the Jets...awww, such a shame...i'm all broke up...:singing::singing:

Re: Rex Ryan opens mouth again to motivate Ravens rookie

Rex just loves running his mouth these days I tell ya.

Man it is like a different guy ever since he got the "head coach" title.

I have a feeling after Monday he won't be running his mouth-at least about the Ravens or their players.

Dirty Sanchez is going to get a "hey rookie, welcome to the NFL" greeting from a defense who wants to show that the players are what makes a unit great and not the coach.

The ironic thing is Jets fans already have this guy in the hall of fame with his 'zero' career wins.

Hell ........ at least the fools waited until Fredo Mangini had 9 wins before they had him heading to Canton.

The Jets are the LA Clippers of the NFL

Rex Ryan is proving worthy of succeeding Mangidiot. I just love how the Jets keep operating the way they do. Ryans' actions just scream of an inability to be professional. Its outstanding!!!!

1st time I'm reading someone address him as "Dirty Sanchez". LOL.

From the linked article mentioned two posts ago about Rex Ryan sharing his favorite football highlights tapes to the press:
_______________________________

"We saw LB Bart Scott's Greatest Hits from the Rams game. On one play, he literally knocked out Rams guard Jacob Bell when he met him in the hole on a running play. It was tantalizing stuff as we saw Bell's body go limp.

On another, Scott yanked off the helmet of Rams G Richie Incognito and kept slamming it against his own helmet (while he had it on), working himself into a frenzy. That's why Scott is nicknamed the "Mad-backer.''

Finally, after a play was blown dead because of a false start, Scott somewhat playfully elbowed an unidentified Rams player in the helmet. The Jets new linebacker lives for contact."

These are examples of what this new head coach loves????? Who is this moron trying to impress??? Vince McMahon???

I love the entertainment factor of this whole thing - - - but man, this is too strange for fiction.

Meanwhile the Patriots just keep their heads down and amass what could very well turn out to be their greatest team ever in 2009.

This year is going to be delicious.

He's celebrating a guy who is probably deserved a hefty fine or two...and got off easy.
