According to the "unnamed player", Favre didn't want to go through training camp. If that is the case then WHY DID YOU NOT JUST SAY THAT TO BEGIN WITH FAVRE?! ************...

I hope when he is finally eligible for the HOF that at least one voter doesn't vote for him on the first ballot and say "I would have voted for him, but I wasn't sure if he was going to unretire or not."

Seriously, the guy should just retire and maintain whatever shreads of dignity he has left.

Favre is just a highly entertaining side-show at this point--he is SO done as a football player. I hope he comes back because all he can do is damage his reputation even more.

Anyone know how Sage and Tavaris looked in the first PS game?

Wow, shocking...

He's turned into a drama queen. He loves the attention he gets from all of this, which is why he says no, then yes, then maybe, then yes every year. I can't stand it. i wish ESPN wouldn't even cover this garbage. I bet Peter King wet himself he go so excited.

Sage looked very good. He made timely and accurate throws going 10 for 13. The only concern I have from what I saw is how he'll handle going against teams such as the Steelers who will pressure him. Sage isn't much of a runner so his lack of speed could come back to haunt him.

Tavaris.... well he looked exactly like the Tavaris we are used to. In other words inconsistent. While he did play with the B squad I saw what we are used to with Tavaris really magnified. Over/under throwing the ball, keeping the ball far too long before doing anything with it, etc.

Right now my pick is Sage. We'll see how Tavaris does with the A squad this Friday.

Sage played very well, Tavaris played poorly.

If this whole thing is true and not just a publicity stunt by Glazer, then I have no idea how you can blame the media for this one. They showed a montage of Favre with the tears in his eyes after he retired from the Jets, to saying he has interest to playing with the Vikings, to saying he doesn't want to play with the Vikings and EMPHATICALLY saying "no, I am done". The media's job is to cover this stuff. They would not have anything to cover if Favre just lived by his word and RETIRED.

The real test is if Favre really does change his mind (which we know he will) is if Childress stays to his word on keeping the door shut. Somehow I don't think he will. In fact I can imagine Childress picking up his phone the second Favre's name shows up on caller ID and simply saying "hey Brett come on in" before Favre can even say a word.

Yes, that really kills the thread considering we all know how much of a slimeball Cook has been in the past. We can't even take Brett Favre's word on this, much less Bus Vook's.

Plausible deniability squared with those two...

I'd say the timing is just about right. Pre season is half over, camps are breaking, Minny beat Indy, Vick is getting too much attention, Goodell will likely talk Brett in just to provide the Iggles with some cover...

Honestly the NFL is getting more like WWE every week. Everything is staged, there is no bad publicity...just publicity, football 24/7/365...that's the goal folks.

Just heard on SportsCenter that Favre boarded an airplane at 9:00 A.M. bound for St. Paul, Minnesota.

EDIT: Apparently, Favre said (and I quote): "we may know something by dinner".
