Because if he is I'm buying his jersey tomorrow!

Before the game I was on the phone with my dad, who is totally crushing on Greg Lewis. I say "well Reiss said the kid Edelman is ahead of him on the depth chart", he goes "who?"....hours later my dad had a new crush and says "he's gotta be Jewish"

So, anyone know? Patjew??

Why would it matter? Is this some sort of Jew pride or something?

Lol. I was going to give the same reply but just kept my mouth/fingers shut.

I was thinking that Edelman might be a new addition for the thin book of Jewish football players. However when they did a close up on him on the sideline, he was showing some ink on his arms. IIRC the Talmud has this prohibition on tatoos. Like you shouldn't deface God's work. Which seem hypocritical, given the whole circumcision thing.....OUCH. ;)

THat's not to say that he isn't Jewish...could be reformed.

For what it's worth, my guess is no. Wiki says his parents are Francis and Angie (Angela).

In the meantime, this kid is really fascinating.

He's a QB! He could be the defacto 4th Qb.

Further, his first two years were at the College of San Mateo.

Hmmmm.......QB.......San Mateo......no wonder he and Brady seem close already. Someone here in the past few days was at TC and wrote in a thread that he/she was very struck by the fact that TB and Randy pulled Edelman aside during practice and went over a certain play with him for over 5 minutes - - the poster seemed struck by the fact that they were treating him seemingly as an equal as he was talking and inputting as much as they were.

Tonight, another poster was noting how Edelman was helping a confused Gsalloway a couple of times line up correctly - - sure he's playing slot and that's what they do, but still seemed weird how he was directing a 15 year vet in his very first game.

I think he's Buddhist.... or from Oregon or something... you should definitely buy his shirt.

I've just felt since the minute we got him that he was going to be special. The guy looked like a vet out there tonight. I've called him a lock for the 53 for about a week. I'm really, really looking forward to seeing him in the regular season. Oh and by the way he didn't just play QB and receiver, but he was also used as a running back and a corner too. He is Troy's replacement and he might even be better than him.

Last I heard he was an athiest before the draft and is now a disciple of Belichick
... he will be baptized on 9/14 at halftime at The Razor.

Yes, that's exactly what it is. There aren't a ton of us playing football, let alone at the professional level, so it's nice to see. Oh well, if he isn't we still have Kraft :)

No idea, sorry bud!

This has been a great draft class.... now we have a serviceable backup to Wes Welker, Vince Wilfork, and possibly Matt Light...depth depth depth

You think he's one of the chosen people?

As the expression goes, at your Bar Mitzvah, you learn that you're more likely to own a professional sports team than to play for one........
