I'm assuming Gresh will be around since he is Tanguay's malignant appendage.

The funniest thing I ever heard was Tanguay promoting Gresh's football expertise via Gresh having played O-lIne for a div. III school.

Gresh is the nighttime host on the Mad Dog Channel (as in Mad Dog from Mike and the Mad Dog from WFAN) on Sirius. The good news is that gig will probably prevent him from appearing on WBZ-FM. The bad news is Mad Dog has already fired him once and it is a matter of time until he does it again and it sticks.

Haven't had an all out media blitz in the newspapers, on buses, and on billboards yet but that doesn't mean it's not coming if it hasn't already started.

The most important thing was to make listeners aware that one station is going away, the other was moving, and another "starting" on the two frequencies, and they have done that well.

I think last week they announced the lineup after the already announced 6-10am slot with Tanguay and Zolak 10am-2pm, Felger and Masserotti 2pm-6pm, and Damon Amendolara 6pm-10pm. The only spots they haven't announced yet are the 10pm-6am timeslots and the weekend slots.

Never saw anything official on Mazz...or any of it. Just reports on things the papers and BSMW were "hearing"...

Why would a Boston based radio station target a mere 20% of the listening audience in CT that actually cares about sports enough to listen but doesn't support NE teams?

Whether WBZ-FM is successful or not, it is already the best thing to happen to Boston sports radio in a really long time. WEEI has already made some very positive changes to compete. Only if they could stop beating subjects into the ground and talk more (or any football), and they would actually be listenable.

I will start listening tomorrow because they will most definitely have training camp and preseason talk which WEEI has all but ignored. They barely even talked about the Derrick Burgess trade because they were more interested in Ortiz drug test talk. Like the WBZ line up or not, they will definitely dedicate more time to the Patriots since both the midday and afternoon shows have football guys as their regulars.

My hope is that competition will make WEEI more responsive to the listeners, i.e. make them get to their "A" game... they have been the only kids on the block for a while now..

Cannot tolerate most of the announcers on 98.5.. Mazz, Tanguay, Zolak and Felger( the resident contrarian)....

Let's call a spade a spade, WEEI sucks, has for years. They spend more time in a 24 hour period taking about how great they are than they do talking sports. Between Dennis and Callaghan's non-stop ruminations of uncoming liberal apocolypse, Dale and Holley's "I've interviewed more legends than you" genetalia measuring contests, the big show's turnstile of hosts making fun of how fat and uninformed each other are and Mike Adam's stupid freaking radio karaoke contests...the only real sports talk you get are the flashes, that is if you're willing to sift through 12 minutes of commercials toget to the flash.

I disagree with your take. Almost completely, in fact.

Now you can listen to someplace else.. betcha you will be whining about them in about a month...

Notice the title and the original poster, you forgot what you reported almost a week ago :D

Until now no one has confirmed it...:D

The Sports Hub, trudging toward its launch, has yet to formally announce any personnel moves, but sources with direct knowledge of the talks confirm that the Globe’s Tony Massarotti will become Michael Felger’s permanent cohost on the station’s weekday show from 2-6 p.m.

I guess you are one of the many here who can't differentiate between a rumor and an official announcement...

I agree with those that say WEEI has way too much Red Sox coverage...hopefully this new station will have more Patriots-related news....

Umm...yup.

You were the one who created the thread, you are the one who posted multiple times in the various threads about the new sports station and you are accusing me of rumor mongering when the first post about the personalities was today after it had already been officially announced?

OK then...carry on. Sorry I ever pointed out anything in the first place

Don't worry about it. At my age, everything is slow too.

Besides, I LIKE the morning show. :)

Is anybody else disappointed that they seem to be trotting out the most predictable retreads rather than attempting to introduce any fresh voices and talents to this major sports market? They might as well adopt the slogan "98.5, The Sports Hub: More of the same!"
Yes..very...more of the same...UGH in felger's case worse..pinhead Mazz...
