98.5 FM Sports Hub will carry all the Pats games now with the changes to WBCN.

My biggest hope.....MORE FOOTBALL TALK!

I love the sox, but 24-7 baseball talk gets tedious.

Bad news.....more Felger.

Worse news....more Andy Gresch!

Anything's better than WEEI. I can't even listen to it any more. The morning show should just be called "The Right-Wing B*tch-Fest Looneybin", since they never talk sports. The afternoon is nothing but Dale and Holley honking horns at each other as they self-promote (that is, if they're actually there). The Big O has his 23 weeks of vacation, and more often than not everyone on that show is just yelling at each other right over the callers. Planet Mikie, well.... ::::inhaling deeply and passing the joint:::

Unfortunately, the 98.5 signal probably won't reach well down here into RI. As bad as The Score was, at least they talked sports on it. Unfortunately, it was usually something like Brown or URI...

I would take Felger over any show on eei except for Dale and Holley.

I just don't understand the hate for Felger. I love the Pats as much as anyone. But, I will take the objective on looker over a big time homer like a Fred Smerlas anyday.

Even if you don't like Felger....at least he talks football. More than I can say for anyone else in this town.

They start broadcasting tomorrow in time for the first pre-season game.

I actually enjoy EEI when Smerlas and Deossie are on in the afternoon.

Callahan may have a "right" leaning slant, but his analysis of sports is usually spot on.

From spring training in feb to November...it's 80% red sox talk.

Looking forward to hearing more about football.

I like Patriot Homers...I am one.

Felger is not objective...he is a synthetic devil's advocate. Plus as the local defacto football guy...he has little passion for the home team. Would talk Packers 24-7 though.

They seem to be making a concerted effort to fly in under the radar... Novel approach.

Tell me they weren't foolish enough to persue Gresh??? LOL

I'm assuming Gresh will be around since he is Tanguay's malignant appendage.

The funniest thing I ever heard was Tanguay promoting Gresh's football expertise via Gresh having played O-lIne for a div. III school.

That's actually the odd thing here. CBS is doing little if anything to promote this launch. More talk about it here than anywhere... Don't seem to have a website, have a twitter page with a handful of followers and no meaningful twits in a week... Maybe they gave up already...

They have focused on informing the listeners of 98.5 and 104.1 more than anything...seems like every five minutes the last two weeks on 98.5 was a promo for the move.

They will launch the website when the stations do the actual change over at Midnight tonight, they already changed over the Mix 98.5 website to Mix 104.1.

Malignant appendage - a perfect description of Gresh. I believe, however, that he played OL for URI.

Is anybody else disappointed that they seem to be trotting out the most predictable retreads rather than attempting to introduce any fresh voices and talents to this major sports market? They might as well adopt the slogan "98.5, The Sports Hub: More of the same!"

Gresh reminds me of Al Bundy and his 4 TD day for Polk High. He was an O lineman for Rhody. I thought the SCORE was better than EEI when i listened in the mid '90's. The only exception was Gresh.

I'd disagree with this tremendously. He is better than Dennis when it comes to sports, but more often than not, he'll just try to play contrarian or apply his conservative values to the sports world, often leading him to the wrong conclusion.

Don't expect any real sports analysis with D&C unless they have a guest on the line. They don't have a good grasp on any of the major sports, asides from golf perhaps.

Was that the same episode that he pawned himself off as Red Grange?

Well, that would seem to only serve to retain some of the existing music audience for the new location. Doesn't promote the new sports talk venue to the masses.

They've never even officially announced their lineups as far as I can tell...

People saying this is more of the same, that's fine by me. 98.5 will get vastly wider than reception than WEEI which I can't even get at my house 25 minutes outside of Boston most of the time.

Well, they did apparently sign a fresh voice from Miami (who also subs on WFAN) to go up against Mikey... Not sure he's got talent, but he's a native NY'er and lover of the Yankees and Giants so at least he will provide an alternative to those who hate Mikey's sox talk...

He refers to Brady as Mr. Bunchen...

Perhaps his target demographic is the CT audience who never warmed to the Boston teams....

Haven't had an all out media blitz in the newspapers, on buses, and on billboards yet but that doesn't mean it's not coming if it hasn't already started.

The most important thing was to make listeners aware that one station is going away, the other was moving, and another "starting" on the two frequencies, and they have done that well.

They've never even officially announced their lineups as far as I can tell...

I think last week they announced the lineup after the already announced 6-10am slot with Tanguay and Zolak 10am-2pm, Felger and Masserotti 2pm-6pm, and Damon Amendolara 6pm-10pm. The only spots they haven't announced yet are the 10pm-6am timeslots and the weekend slots.
