This greeted me on my Comcast home page this AM:

HAMPTON, Va. (AP) — Michael Vick told basketball campers at Hampton University on Tuesday to use his own story as an example as they work to follow their dreams.

The free agent NFL quarterback, who last month finished a 23-month federal prison sentence for dogfighting, told a crowd of about 250 to ``use me as an example for your dreams.'' Vick also told them that after accomplishing his goals he ``allowed someone who didn't have my best interests at heart to take all that away from me,'' according to a release from the school.

``Respect helps you to make wise decisions,'' Vick said.

No, moron, having half a brain helps you make wise decisions. A soul and a conscience doesn't hurt, either.

Tony Dungy has to be the biggest sucker in the game for pimping this thug. He is only remorseful for his own self...

This is snipet warning #2 this week (his rapper video cameo being the first) to NFL owners that regardless of what his mentor says, it's buyer beware... He is what he is.

I don't want to say that Dungy is ruining his career by supporting Vick, but he certainly isn't helping it. I know he's Christian and second chances are the Christian thing to do, but I find it hard to believe that deep down, Vick feels any remorse for what he did. I believe he's just trying to show it because he's so hard up for money right now and playing football would be the quickest way to get it back.

Dungy may also be inserting the nail in the coffin of one of his protogees. Vick was seen arriving at O'Hare last night. A car picked him up so it's doubtful he was merely there for a connection...

What has sickened me is the full court press to find this guy a landing spot in the NFL... In Chicago it would be a #2 spot as well since they have nothing behind (or around) Cutler. Of course, that could prove mildly entertaining in a perverse sort of way...

What the f*ck is he talking about?! Who is this "someone" he's blaming for "forcing" him to torture and kill dogs? Perhaps he's blaming the judge who sentenced him. Unbelievable.

He's putting the blame elsewhere while trying to "take the blame for my actions"...classic double talk.

This should be riveting. 60 Minutes allows someone from SNF to interview Vick as part of their program... I guess he was afraid to face a real investigative reporter with that nobody ever told me crap...

The other thing that jumped out at me was I read a quote from a resident of Vick's home town recently stating that dog fighting wasn't something that occurred there when Vick was growing up... So somebody's recollections are a little off... I guess the same people who never told him dog fighting was bad also failed to inform him that running an interstate gambling enterprise in violation of Federal law was bad... Shame on that college that gave him a free ride, and probably more...

Dungy seems to be backpedaling a little on his prediction...now it's a prayer...seems everyone has the same problems with Vick, can't sell him to an entire organization. Either he's not a fit for a smart offense or he's too divisive for a weak one.

Sucker? Dungy was asked by the NFL to help Vick out, meaning please send your $200/hr invoice to 280 Park Avenue New York, NY 10017. You don't ask a guy who just retired to help you out without giving him a stipend.

What annoys me the most is Dungy blatantly lies about getting calls from teams about Vick. If any team (let alone teams) actually cared about Vick they would bring him in for a visit. Dungy is just doing his media thing to get the press to think positively about Vick who is happens to be associated with the NFL. God forbid something negative is associated with the NFL, right BB?

I hope they drill the guy on these comments, but TPTB probably won't let that happen. Next week it will be old news. Thanks Tony for wasting our time.

And now, for the Toronto Argonauts, at Quarterback, Michael Vick...
