Why so few blogs up about the stadium practice??

Have been trying to catch up a bit and...besides Reiss and Scalavino (who had double blog entries) there wasn't much else written. Usually for a stadium practice there is an overflow of info..but Reiss said little..while ES in PFW/Pats,com said a bit more, but lacked the depth of a usual report. What about other reports?? Did the others take time off?? Even so few who have updated from the stands...just a bit disappointing.

I saw this morning's practice the player's were in t-shirts and shorts, so there would be less to report. Maybe it's a case of people getting a little burnt out trying to say the same thing over and over again.

Be aware there's no practice Saturday and only an afternoon pratcice Sunday, so there probably won't be much new info for a few days.

I am quite aware of that..I was comparing THIS year's lack of reporting of the stadium practice with past years. IN any of the 2 reports not a mention of attendance at the event..10K more??? Also maybe teh Burgess trade sent writers in THAT direction.

I would start a new thread but I don't have 100 posts yet blush...I am planning to go down to the training camp sessions on Monday and since I have never been before, I have a few questions:

1. I am driving to the stadium from Lowell/Lawrence area. How is the traffic going south on I-95 in the morning? How much time would you estimate the trip taking from Boston area --> Gillette? Also, is it important to get there early (well ahead of 9:30 am), or not?

2. Are you allowed to bring water bottles?

3. If we were to stay for the afternoon practice, does anybody have recommendations for killing the time from 11:15 to 3:45? Places for lunch, things to do and see...I haven't been to Patriot Place, so perhaps that is worth checking out?

Any other tips for a training camp newcomer?

1. I dont travel the direction you speak of but I would be prepared for normal rush hour type stuff maybe 50 min give or take depending on the particular day. I would try to be there round practice start time no need to be early as you can find seating fairly easy as long as your not a huge group. dont worry bout being late as they fun stuff starts the second half of practice.
2. you can bring water and your own food no problem, they so sell stadium food too but at stadium prices.
3. patriot place has plenty of good options for food (CBS Scene, Davios, Skipjacks, Five Guys and more). The retail is OK but not great still trying to fill the mall but the Bass Pro is awsome (and I am not an outdoorsmen). not sure if killing 3-4 hours is easy in any mall. They have the Patriot Experience open which is basically a bunch of moonwalks that simulate some football things....fun for the kids. I would fully recomend the Patriot Hall Fame except I have no Idea how crowded it gets during TC.

Also right up the street is funway and you could do some minigolf or arcades. there really isnt all that much in Foxboro. The Wrentham outlets are real close.

To add to the post from signbabybrady, you can bring your own food and drinks (no alcohol, i believe) but you cannot bring in a cooler. Practice is only about 2 hours so I usually bring a bottle or two of water.

Parking is free, admittance is free. The Pats Hall of fame at the Pro shop is a great place to visit. My wife and i spent about 3 hours there between the Pro Shop and the HOF. There are a few decent shops, as signbabybrady said Bass Pro shop is awesome.

Bring binoculars so you can better see what's happening. Do not bring a video camera because BB will send big Vince after you.

---back to the regular thread- I haven't seen much on the in stadium practice either!

Pats 726, you called it. I was ready to go with a full entry about practice in the stadium (Wilhite practicing in the red jersey, etc.), but the Burgess trade broke and that changed everything, especially many of us who were working solo that night. Focus moved from practice to breaking news.

Yeah. I live in NYC and read the tabloids and Times every day. I gotta say that the coverage of the Pats camp in the Boston media is way more extensive than the coverage of the Jests and Giants camps. Maybe one brief article a day on each. I think we might just be saturated.
