FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots' afternoon practice has concluded and it was a shorts-and-t-shirts walkthrough. So that alters the training camp scorecard of practices:

11 full pads
2 walkthroughs
1 shorts and light shoulder pads

Tom Brady, sans knee brace, leads Patriots through a walkthrough to end Day 7
Posted by Ian Rapoport at 5:55 pm

It was another two-a-day for the Patriots, though this afternoon workout was a little easier than most of them. Coach Bill Belichick ordered another walkthrough, allowing the players some rest during a tough stretch.
It doesn’t feel like Day 7,” cornerback Terrence Wheatley said. “It feels like Day 30. But you got to grind it out.”

Mostly this afternoon, it was just a mental session, with players going through the motions of plays and making sure they were on the same page in their brains. Or something.

It is worth noting that many of the injured players were present and accounted for, including Tedy Bruschi, Richard Seymour, Ty Warren, Jonathan Wilhite, Ben Watson, and others. No casts or slings were visible. And quarterback Tom Brady didn’t wear his brace.

Actually, Belichick shed some light on their situation today.

They are getting close,” he said of the most of the injured players, in general.

Boring, but that’s what happened. Two more two-a-days to go… that we know of.

Wednesday afternoon notes

Written by Paul Perillo on August 5, 2009 – 5:43 pm

The Patriots completed their first full week of camp with a walkthrough Wednesday afternoon, marking just the third time in 14 practices the team hasn’t been in full pads. Instead the players donned T-shirts and shorts with most adding red Patriots hats to their attire.

-There were several notable players who have been out of action on the field including Richard Seymour, Shawn Crable, Ty Warren, Benjamin Watson, Ryan O’Callaghan and rookie Rich Ohrnberger.

-The team spent some time working on various onside kicks before practice, going through conventional kicks as well as longer ones kicked behind the front lines ahead of the deep returners.

-There weren’t many other notable events during the 90-minute workout as the team went through various formations and personnel groups on offense and defense.

-As a side update from the morning practice we offer you the following: Word on the street would indicate the controversial final play that resulted in a Randy Moss touchdown was actually a sack, which was the reason why the offense ran the lap and not the defense.

-Since there wasn’t much more to report, we’ll keep it short and return tomorrow with a recap of the 9:30 a.m. practice.

Bill Belichick gave his players another physical respite, as New England has a walkthrough for this afternoon's session.

As it was a walkthrough, every player was spotted, meaning Richard Seymour, Ty Warren, Tedy Bruschi and others who have missed time to injury were on the field for the practice, which ran about 75 minutes.

The rain held off for the most part.

Wednesday afternoon walk-through notes

Wednesday afternoon walk-through notes
By Andy Hart, Patriots Football Weekly

For just the third time in training camp New England left its helmets and shoulder pads in the locker room to hit the practice fields for a walk-through Wednesday afternoon.

...

Notes
After addressing the media earlier in the day, the crew of NFL officials was not on the field for the walk-through but is expected to return to the field with the team again on Thursday. … Adalius Thomas wore a white towel on his head during the walk-through, resembling former WWE star the Iron Sheik. … In a note that wouldn’t be a note on any day that wasn’t a walk-through, more than half the players wore the same red, Patriots hat. … With the slower-than-normal nature of the afternoon, long snapper Nathan Hodel worked on his onside kicks between the practice fields. … Sammy Morris, ever the proud alum, wore a Texas Tech long sleeve ruby. … Bill Belichick spent most the time on the practice field chatting on the sidelines with Floyd Reese and Jason Licht. … The Patriots will return to the practice fields Thursday morning at 9:30 A.M. for the first of two scheduled sessions.

Ha it was a sack....no excessive celebration or out of bounds.

I think it is worth noting that if I recall correctly most of the injured did not take part in the last walk through so that would supports BBs claim that most are close.

"There were several notable players who have been out of action on the field including Richard Seymour, Shawn Crable, Ty Warren, Benjamin Watson, Ryan O’Callaghan and rookie Rich Ohrnberger."

Take note people. The fact that these folsk were AT practice means they are NOT now qualified to be on the PUP. Great news!

Actually it doesn't. These don't count as real practices because they're not wearing helmet/pads. They're still on PUP, so saying "they no longer qualify for PUP" is a bit misleading. Besides, I think Neal was at these walkthroughs last year anyway and still ended up missing the first 6+ games.

Remember that previously Chris Price stated that the PUP guys were kept completely out of sight of even the press.

They were all present for the walkthrough on Sunday night. There's even pictures of Warren and Ohnrberger talking to Belichick. And I remember there being video/pictures of PUPs in past years too during these walkthroughs.

Pats1 is correct. PUP players can participate in walk throughs. Reiss pointed this out over and over again last year in some of his reports.
