"Dan Koppen (6'2", 296) and Sebastian Vollmer line up thier helmets with the rest of the offense after practice."

Jesus! That guy is huge, can't wait to see him line up against freeny and/or mathis!

what a way to get mentored than light, koppen, neal and co.

He's 6'8" and isn't the only guy on the team that tall. But yeah, very big boy, for sure.

He was the biggest dude on the field today, and by far. He was also clearly the most athletic lineman. Some of his work on the screens was downright scary.

I hope he can break Joey Porter in half if he sees some playing time for Light this season. By the looks of him, he's well capable of it. :D

If he is as good as a lot of people think he is, whose PT will he be chipping away at?

Considering how flexible he seems regarding placement on the line, it probably depends on who they're playing that Sunday. Options, options...

Maybe BB will use him as a fullback like they did with hochstein.

Or replacing Vrabel on the goal line???

Talk about a power formation on x and 1/goal. 3 TE set + FB

C- Koppen
G- Neal
G- Pancake-ins
T-Light
T- Kazur
TE-Vollmer
TE- Baker
TE-Smith
FB-Hochstein
QB-Vick (kidding)
RB-Taylor

It wouldn't surprise me if Vollner becomes better than some (perhaps all) of the 1st round tackles in the draft. Seabass ended his college career on a high note and has tremendous upside.

He is my binky...

Yeah, he's slowly becoming my binky as well. Keep in mind that this is coming from a guy that very rarely if ever (I can't remember the last time I actually had one) labels anyone on the Pats as his "binky".

Well, that's your fault. ;) After all, you don't choose binkies, binkies choose you. :)

You sure got that right. :D

Seabass wasn't my binky, but it sounds like he could be a real find, and one of the steals of the draft.

That might have been in jest. If a real suggestion, that's not really what you want.

A fullback needs to get low and power through a hole. At 6-8, Sea Bass' height would be a bit of a detriment in this role.

Further, the Pats have had several injuries to linemen trying to play short yardage FB - most notably Seymour, but also Klecko. You are taking a risk placing a linemen in that role.

At outside tackle, either left or right, that wingspan is very valuable in driving the rusher wide.

Seymour is 6'6" and was, of course, used as a fullback. Just 2 inches difference. But yeah, no injuries to important lineman playing out of position, please.
