Re: Not Lemon, but Alexander to be the QB brought in?

Andrew Walter Alexander??

Thanks for catching that. I was distracted and completely screwed it up.

Puke. This guy is a stiff. Can't believe they'd sign him over Lemon. Hopefully it's just for a live arm. Though I guess if it's as vet QB3 it's not a huge deal, but the guy is just not good.

That's what I think. Think on it. The Pats currently have 4 QBs in camp. That is not a lot, when you concider that you have to have a QB to run a lot of the drills for group skills, for both the offense and the defense. Then when you add that to the fact that within a few day Brady is going to start to see some of those vacation days the "old" guys are getting, they are going to need another arm out there.

BTW- I haven't watched the QBs too closely, I assume others can do that, but off the periphery my instinct is to say that while OConnell looks like the #2, Gutts isn't doing anything to get him knocked down a peg, and Hoyer is doing much better than recent UDFA QBs they've brought in.

So I don't think they look at the current crop and said Damned we better get someone in here, but instead looked at their practice schedule and said 'damned we better get someone in here'. ;)

Didn't Moss once compliment this guy at Oakland? Does no harm to bring him in I guess, maybe with some good players around him for once he might look a little better.

I guess he is an upgrade over Gutierez...I guess....

can't have enough depth.....

but, this news isn't super exciting.

Yeah, he totally blows. Lemon is pretty bad too, though. I have to think that this is all about creating competition.

I don't think the Patriots are adding another quarterback because
the others are over worked. Four is about the normal number.
Look for Hoyer to be cut if Walter is signed. Hoyer could be added
to the practice squad later on if he passed thru waivers.

Andrew Walter will be interesting to have in camp. Oakland is a cease pool and players there are eaten away by the constant losing and micro-managing of the owner, Al Davis. I'm sure it is easy to loss motivation there when you only win 4 games a year and all four are ugly... your team is constantly burying you on the depth chart by bringing guys like Aaron Brooks, Culpepper, Garcia, Tui and Russell.

I sum of Walter like this: Good size and more than adequate arm. Mobility is below average and more likely to take a sack than avoid it with fancy footwork. Given time, Walter can find the open receiver and rarely forces the ball into into coverage. Doesn't have that "it" quality, but plays the QB position like he learned it out of text book.

Better than that Matt Cassel scrub, glad we finally got rid of him.

Thank god we never needed him to actually fill in for Brady, bet he would of went win less.

I hope they do, he will be a good..BACK UP , AND I SAY BACK UP, to Brady.. Was not excited about Cleo Lemon, would have also liked Brian Griesie..

He'll be going from horrible coaching to the best in the business.

Re: Matt Gutierrez cut. Who's in?

Schefter says it's going to be Walter. But I think it's Julius Peppers.

There's a rumor (made up by me this very second) that Michael Vick is in Boston right now, and will be driving to Gillette to sign a multi-year contract with the Patriots.

Re: Matt Gutierrez cut. Who's in?

Who knows who will be the third QB. Theres alot of reports about Cleo Lemon and Walters, but we will see!! Im not surprised about Gutierrez getting cut. I saw that coming.
