Question for the Haters to answer why did BB bring back TBC

When I'm on here, I feel like I'm in Pyongyang sometimes.

"You must not question the decisions of our Dear Leader!"

"Our Dear Leader knows what's best for us!"

"Our Dear Leader is infallible and divine...!"

Stepford Forum.

I asked not because I wondered why people would question BB....I asked because I wondered if peoples expectations of TBC were too high and maybe that is where the questions come from.

I see 3 main reasons to bring the guy back...STs he is really god at it, Pass rush 7 sacks last time he was here, and to compete/ platoon for the OLB spot.....I don't think BB signed TBC and said OLB is all set now and didn't try to get someone else the other attempts failed but by getting TBC he had a plan in place that isn't as bad as the bellyaching on here.

the plan seemed to be let some of the young guys get a chance to take the spot and fall back on a combo of Woods and TBC. So one young guy failed and is cut....we still have one on PUP.

Do you remember any of those sacks? He was just a jag here, not really memorable.

Oh, stop now. With posters like Captain Stone, Maverick4 and company, there's no danger of this place becoming a 'stepford forum.'

This droop-head agrees with everything that Ray-Clay has said.

BTW, the Patriots system has NOT worked better than anyone else's: 0 SBs in the past 4 years, while the Squealers have won 2 in the past 4 years, says it hasn't.

What never ceases to boggle my mind is whenever a non-Koolaid-drinking poster points out personnel & coaching mistakes, the Koolaid-drinking lemmings act as if their mothers were crudely insulted.

And instead of carping about a draft pick or two - try a dozen or more - not working out, we should be grateful for this gift of a team? For how long? Forever & ever Amen? Until we all live happily ever after? That's an effin joke.

Our recent passed is littered with Chad Jackson's, Ben Watson's, Laurence Maroney's to name a few who are pretty high picks and haven't pan out.

We make mistakes. By saying so seems to be an afront to some. I don't get it.

What never ceases to boggle my mind is then whenever a clown insists that he's being a realist by knocking the most successful team of the decade, he calls out those who realize that he's a clown. It's readily apparent that the clown doesn't understand what a 'realist' actually is, and is instead mistakenly equating pessimism and trolling with 'realism', yet the clown continues to do it in post after post.

Take these comments to the one about OLB not the one specifically about Tully because to call Tully a personell and coaching mistake is Really Really dumb.....7th rounder developes into a good enough STer and pass rusher that he earns a contract bigger than his skills and then gets invited back to his orginal team for close to vet min sounds like an awful coaching and personell move huh:rolleyes:

B..b..b..but Belichick tendered Woods, signed TBC, kept Craig and Redd, never drafted an OLB, then cut Craig and Redd, clearly he's throwing darts at Don Shula's picture to make his decisions! However, as soon as he signs Wilie McGinest's wheelchair the party can start.

It pretty clear Belichick know nothing about running a football team.

As several poster pointed out before the start of last season on this very forum, if Tom Brady was injured there is no possible way that bum Matt Cassel would lead this team to a playoff birth.

Dispite the calls by many for the Patriots to sign a FA vet, our idiot coach persisted in placing the fortunes of this team in the hands of a QB that sucked so bad he couldn't even play in college.

And as predicted by the posters on this very forum. The Patriots did miss the playoffs. That is proof positive that the posters on this forum know more about football than Bill Belichick.

;)

great post it had me laughing.

The way people talk about Tully its like BB was crazy for bringing him back.

so to everyone who was arguing about the OLB position please explain why Tully was brought back.

I wasn't crazy about bring TBC back but it wasn't crazy for the Pats to sign him either. He was cheap, knows the system and if he shows up in shape and motivated he is a decent 4th option at OLB.

He's cheap, he knows the system, he needs a job and he has some pass rush ability.

I don't hate him, I'm just disappointed we spend years grooming one or two low round or UDFA's that don't amount to much.

If we're not going to invest money or picks, let's flood the camp with cheap linebackers and let them beat each other out for competition.

Pierre Woods has amounted to a starter, and it appears Gary Guyton will too.

You're right...we must conform.

We'll all become like those guys on Saturday Night Live sitting around the table drinking beer, and wondering who would win in a fight.....Bruce Lee or Bill Belichick with one hand tied behind his back.

Fun Stuff.

who would win in a fit BB or God?

Trick question BB is God

Answer: No more Izzo.

At this point in time, TBC is an upgrade over the 2009 Izzo.

He's an ace on ST, and a decent backup OLB.

Bringing him back at the Vet minimum was a GREAT move.

Exactly; nothing more, nothing less.

Expecting him - or worse, counting on him, as some are - to produce while taking significant snaps with the nickel & dime packages, could very well be an excercise in futility.

Pierre Woods has amounted to a starter, and it appears Gary Guyton will too.

Both projections at this point IMO. Beisel and TBC were starters too.

Let's give it half a season and see. We've had a lot of linebacker starters by default in the last few years.

The mistake was making him the starter by default. He was a fine 7th round pick, good STs, pass rush ability.

Unfortunately, We've lost six starting linebackers over the decade and replaced two.

Yes, we've had 5 man rotations of starter quality linebackers at least twice, Always four quality starters barring injury.

I actually like Woods and guyton, but I wouldn't say they have won starting jobs based on competition. Expecting two starting positions to be filled by UDFAs is pretty optimistic.

I they turn into great starters, more power to them. Still leaves us with no depth, though.

Actually hoping Crable wins the job, because that's the only player with impact potential IMO.

Indeed, he did a good job in pass rushing. It's just the other stuff (covering receivers and stopping runs) that have proven more problematic. Since the Patriots have a need for a pass rusher, TBC would seem like a very logical fit.
