The Patriots reported via their Twitter Channel that there was no sign of wide receiver Randy Moss so far for the morning session.

I'm not worried about it. Belichick in recent years have held sporatically out veterans out of one practice on double session days. My guess is since Belichick did load up on the double sessions early this training camp season and the number of new Patriots players(free agents and rookies), that a lot of seasoned veterans will miss a session a day. Sitting Moss keeps him fresh and gives Galloway, Lewis, and Edelman more reps.

Exactly. At this stage in Moss' career, he probably ices his knees after every workout. Lets keep those old knees fresh for later in the year. Not that he's our only old guy with knees. But those are some mighty valuable knees. I appreciate how Belichick manages his personnel. No need to treat Moss like a 1st or 2nd year safety trying to make the starting unit.

Looks like that's going to be the routine for him, off in the am on in the pm. Today is also Brady and Moss day for the media: Brady & Moss day - Reiss' Pieces - Boston.com

I expect that to probably be the case. There is no need to push him at this stage of his career, since each season they get from him where he can still perform at a high level is a gift.

I'm guessing that there are many, many possible 53-man possibilities. I am also guessing that Randy Moss is on the roster in ALL of those possibilities.

He might as well spend more time evaluating and coaching up the others...

If the morning sessions tend to be the with pads sessions and the afternoon sessions not then willowy girly mon wideouts might only do afternoons.

Exactly. There's no need to wear out the veterans who know the system and are going to play major roles during the season. Taking the time to do a full analysis of other players makes sense.

All I know is if Moss doesn't speak to the media I will poop my pants. Because I assume this is planned and not something else but not talking to the media when he said he would would be a bad sign.

Didn't he miss most of his first training camp as a Patriot? It didn't slow him down at all during the regular season as I remember.
