Ian's Daily Blog - The Patriots finished their first training camp session this morning, and later on head coach Bill Belichick met with the media for his daily press conference. He was asked about a variety of topics, including quarterback Michael Vick. He praised the former Falcons quarterback as an athlete, but said little else. “Michael is an [...]

Oh my GOD!!! Vick is SOOOOO coming here!!!

Yeah, and it's of no suprise that the one good thing BB DID say about Vick is the first article available in the ESPN.com news section.

Having not watched this particular press conference, I am going to go out on a limb and make the headline more inclusive....

Belichick Has Nothing to Say About Nothing.

During his opening press training camp Bill Belichick spoke to the media for 20 mins and we learned......... that it began to rain during the practice.

Mike Vick won't be able to play until week 6 at the earliest ... so perhaps that is week 10 - okay. He needs to go to a team that doesn't really need him but would find a way to use him ... that would be the Patriots. Mike Vick as an H-back would be great. The best use of a player as an H back is on teams that have great talent at WR, TE and RB already ... that would be us also. ;):D;)

I don't think we could possibly be any more hated than we are already so bad publicity is certainly a non factor if he comes here. Also ... by week 6 to 10 we will have lost somebody to injury ... it is what it is lately. ;)

leave it to PFT to build an entire story around it .Always look for the controversy rather than agood story

Of course, the ultimate irony of a Vick/Pats marriage would be that Belichick would have to collaborate with one of his primary antagonists of the past seven seasons -- former Colts coach Tony Dungy, who is serving as a mentor and advisor to Vick. Though the relationship isn't quite at the Belichick-Mangini level, Dungy's comments in the wake of the 2007 cheating scandal likely haven't been forgotten by Belichick.

He can actually play by week 1 at the earliest, the commissioner said he's going to make his decision by week 6, not on.

Even before this whole media fascination I've had a feeling this might be a landing spot for Vick and with the recent "no thanks" from the Jags, Dolphins and Redskins I'd be even less surprised.

I thought PFT creating that headline based on their opinion, not on actual facts was a bit of a reach. I wouldn't say the possibility "looms"...that's not exactly the case. I could do the same thing with any headline, but all it does is irritate the reader. But it will grab a ton of traffic and get people's attention and people will hit that story. That I'm sure was the goal.

Belichick didn't say anything overt there, but he made it a point to stress his "focus is on our team and our players and trying to get the New England Patriots ready." If Belichick were interested in Vick, then logic would dictate he know exactly where Vick is right now.

lol @ these writers trying to decipher Belichick's words.

Tim Graham won't be long for ESPN. Too commonsensical.

Oh crap. Belichick had nothing to say about Christian Peter playing for us this season either.

So that's yet another bad apple who seems destined to play here no matter what Bob and Myra Kraft think about it.

For once, I'm glad Bob is married to Myra ... even if she does bear a striking resemblance to Marv Levy.

thank you for knocking the colts out. ;)

vick won't be in game shape and it may take him a while.

I would hope the team I love , not force me to choose its merits by signing this overated thug.... He is who he is, and will not help us... Anybody that things that stays up all night playing madden and thinks he is a expert on football... Give it up.. .Let him go to other thug teams, raiders , ravens..

They signed Dillon and Moss, and kept Ty "It was my cousin's" Law around. Why are you still a fan?

Not being Sean Me Boy, I'd guess it might be because those 3 miscreants cited did not exhibit several years of sociopathic behaviour. Just my guess.
