Somebody stop this insanity please!!!!
Could Michael Vick-Bill Belichick connection be brewing? - USATODAY.com

Really,I have no problem with NE signing Vick if it means the team thinks they have a better shot to win with him, but the media is going nuts over this story and its getting more wacky every day and now it appears everyone who writes about Vick is pointing him towards only the Patriots

I demand (like they really care) that if the Patriots are NOT the least bit interested in Vick that Kraft get his ass to the press conference podium to shut these media f^ckers up already before it turns beyond crazyness.

Why? If these stories make, say, Buffalo, bid against themselves to keep Vick off the Patriots roster the mission accomplished. Got the disinformation campaign to trick an opponent into doing something stupid and you did nothing.

I wouldn't expect the Pats to comment unless it is in their best interests. If another team is interested in Vick and they believe the Pats are also, it may cause that other team to outbid themselves for Vick's services. On the other hand if that other team thinks the Pats are not interested, they take their time and lowball Vick - neither of which helps the Pats. It is in the Pats best interst for another team to spend a lot of money on Vick and to also cut another player sooner rather than later to make room for him on the roster. In other words there is no benefit to saying "we're not interested in Vick" unless it becomes a distraction to the team - and with Tom Brady as opposed to say, Sage Rosenfels as QB, rumors about Vick are unlikely to cause a disturbance.

Former Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy will be Vick's mentor. Will Belichick become his quarterback counselor?

BB and Tony as a team? How nice!

I wish someone would sign him, just so these aweful rumors will stop. We don't need him, and shouldnt want him. Im saying this based off of his football past, not his criminal past.

I have no problem in signng Vick. And the wildcat possibilities are intreguing. Howver I just can't get past THIS one question. Why would you take the ball out of the best QB in the league hands, and put it in Mike Vick's????? How would THAT increase your chances of making a play? Ultimately THAT'S the reason Mike Vick won't wind up in NE.

I think the idea here is that the mediots don't believe O'Connell is a viable #2 backup. Which means NE needs a backup QB. Enter Vick.

Which, of course, makes sense, because when Brady went down with an injury last year they went out and signed Chris . . . er, Patrick, er . . . wait a minute. . . .

Agreed, what's the harm? Personally, I don't think the speculation really has to do with the Pats' roster so much as with the fact that most teams have already come out and announced "no way" on Vick. That's not BB's modus operandi, so New England remains one of the few interesting landing spots for the media to speculate about.

If he already has Tony Dungy then why does everyone think he needs BB? Who knows where this all ends up...

This sort of reminds me of last years draft, when everyone was saying we were looking at Ghoulston. It all turned out to be BS, but it made one of our opponents flinch and screw up, so mission accomplished in Foxboro.

I'd be willing to put money on him being a UFL player before he is in Pats Blue and Silver.

No comment by Kraft et. al. is the best policy. Why? Because once you start commenting on rumors, then any future non-comments on just about any common, wacko rumor of the week then get read as attempts to hide something. Rational observers of the Patriots understand the benefits.

I'm not in favor of signing Vick, but consider:

Work him out as a WR or RB. If he can do it, then on third and five Brady splits wide but stays about 10 yards behind the LOS. VIck is in shotgun. Defense must defend Vick run, Vick pass, Vick lateral to Brady who passes. Do this once a game to put pressure on the defense the rest of the year.

I'm not in favor of doing this, but merely answering your question of "How would it help?"

Not to mention that if the Pats were down by 6 points or less with a few minutes to go,which team has the defense in the NFL to stop Brady and Vick along with Welker,Moss and Galloway and any TE in a Wildcat formation? - There is no one who could stop them from scoring...seriously,its over for the opposition no matter how much you gameplan against it.

<----oh oh oh face:)

Would be badass if we could get Vick would take him in a new york min!

Teams would have no clue what we would do each week, they could nv game plan for us.

Actually from all accounts, there have been less than half of the teams in the NFL dismissing Vick from the possibility of joining their team.

The Bills and Redskins joined the anti-Vick signing today saying they don't want him but that still leaves about 12-15 teams yet to say anything regarding this and that includes the Pats and the Dolphins in the East.
