Just wondering how fans here feel about Vick joining the PATs.
How you feel if Vick joined the PATs?

Re: a M.Vick Poll

Nahhhhhhhhhh, I like Vick's ability but I just dont see him here.

Re: a M.Vick Poll

Cant say I want him but I wouldn't have a problem if it happened.

In fact if BB did it I would be excited but I doubt he wants the side show.

Re: a M.Vick Poll

I don't want him, but, as others have said here, I root for the laundry.

Re: a M.Vick Poll

I am a season ticket holder of 16 years and would seriously consider giving them up if that scumbag ever donned a Patriots uniform.

Re: a M.Vick Poll

Come on now. Some of you want a player who got his kicks

out of electrocuting helpless dogs?

Re: a M.Vick Poll

I will not support any team that has Vick wearing the jersey.

Re: a M.Vick Poll

It won't happen for the two reasons listed below, but if it did, I personally would have no problem with it it because:

1) Belichick might know football better than lurker1965
2) Kraft might know the business side better than lurker1965.:)

That said, it won't happen because:
1) Vick was not that good before his incarceration and suspension.
2) No matter what he does, he comes with protestors and bad publicity. All publicity is good publicity if you are an un-established business like a UFL team. An established business, like a NFL team, is different.

Re: a M.Vick Poll

I do not care, but know it will never happen...

Who said we want him? We said we'd tolerate him.

So you do not think a guy who paid his debt to society should get a second chance?

Do you want O.J. Simpson kicked out of the Hall of Fame (Yes, he was convicted of causing the wrongful death of Ron Goldman* in civil court.)

*Whatever legalese means murder in a civil trial. It might be Latin.

Re: a M.Vick Poll

I posted this in the vick thread which seems to have lost its steam. But I was curious so I will see what you guys think in here.

Am I wrong about this? (no later than week 6 compared to a straight sentance of say 4 games)

It seems to me that the Team that plans on signing him now will have to do so without knowing exactly how much they will pay him.

You dont pay a suspended player right?

So if he is back week 1 he gets full pay if he is back week 5 he only gets 3/4. and basically an owner wont know what he is to pay to the player.

I believe this has no cap implications because you have to fit the full amount under the cap.

any thoughts?

He's paid his debt to "society" but never will be able to the dogs and people that were harmed by him.

I don't mind him getting a second chance, but just not in a position that puts him in the limelight as a potential celebrity. Let him find another line of work and have a second chance from that position in society.

For what it's worth, the latest research indicates that dogs experience emotion at about 80% of the depth that people do. So imagine if he'd done the same thing he did to those dogs to people? Would we be only a bit more outraged, and a bit less forgiving?

Re: a M.Vick Poll

The guy spent years in jail and paid his due,Thats more than I could say for someone like Pacman for example who has yet to serve anything for his illegal activities.

All humans make mistakes and this was one, albeit a big one - If Jesus forgave him then why wouldn't I?

Let him play whether its here or anywhere and I have no problem with that - My biggest concern would be the MAJORITY of fans may get mad and that would hurt the fan base.

are you talking about people fighting? Boxing, UFC

In all seriousness though I think people would be less enraged if it were people than dogs just the way some idiots are out there.

His sentance would have been worse but I think the public would have paid less attention.

He didn't do those things to people. It's not an equivalent.

If Vick was the owner of a warehouse where he had hired guys to kidnap and kill people in that secret hideout and was caught of course he would be spending multiple life sentences in jail - But in the way society is run,Dogs do not and will never hold the seriousness that killing a human being will and thats the difference here ... Society by way of court law makes the rules and a dog killer will NEVER spend life in prison so comparing the two crimes is irrelevant

Re: a M.Vick Poll

No. I don't want him. But of course I'd still support the Pats if we got him.

I don't think it's going to happen though. I highly doubt someone like Kraft would want Vick associated with the Pats. Besides, Vick is a starter. You're not going to bring in Vick to run the wildcat or something a few plays a game. He's going to go to a team that needs a QB. Fortunatly for us we have a franchise QB and really don't need Vick.

I agree with your position.

He paid the price. He is forgiven. No problem. But has he changed?
Does he now see and feel what he did was a horrible thing?
I do not know. If we could know the man's heart then the decision is
a lot easier.
I am not God neither is anyone here.
M. Vick can do a lot of other things and make a lot of money.

When a player/person gets a role that puts him in the position that people,
especially young people, look up to her/him then there is an unwritten rule that such a person must portray the best of standards.
If that trust is violated then that person should be forgive but should
not assume such a role again in their life time.
It should be voluntary action from feeling such remorse.
Some TV evangelist should never have preached again.
They violate a trust which is not easily made right again.

No to Vick as a Patriot.

Re: a M.Vick Poll

I don't know exactly how it would all work out, but I know that if he came I would try to be as optimistic as possible...I am sure he would fit in one way or another...
