Re: conditioning run has not even occurred yet

GUYS, i do not even think the conditioning run was done yet. In fact, you have to be active to even run it - so lets not panic yet

Re: conditioning run has not even occurred yet

Shun White is the surprising guy who made it to camp. His fellow Annapolis alumni were put on the Inactive/Military list but he seems to have survived to make it to camp. It's not really surprising for anyone who caught any Navy games this year, the kid can really play and is a Harvin-like RB/WR hybrid.

He's this year's darkhorse that I'm rooting for.

In a tight race like this, these guys better all return to practice asap...especially Crable...

Re: Gasper: Warren, Crable, Ohrnberger, LeVoir, Richard to A/PUP, Tate, Porter to R/N

We don't know why Crable is on the PUP list. We can probably put off committing seppuku until we get the actual story.
You don't understand the gravity of the situation. It's not just that Crable's career is probably over as he obviously is made of galss. The long snapper is holding out! We're doomed.

The rookies most likely have had their conditioning runs. Veterans haven't reported yet. The first day of training camp is Thursday so that means veterans report on Wednesday. So the veterans on the PUP are on for real reasons.

Injured but not bad enough to put them out of camp entirely? Possible situation where they got hurt working out on their own maybe?

You make it seem like BB used the military list to stash the other 2....It is more likely the other 2 had obligations to the Navy and apparently White does not or his obligations are close enough to Foxboro to keep him in camp.

Think Kyle Eckel the first time we had him. He had obligations to the navy but arranged to carry out his obligations in RI. When we cut him and Miami nabbed him he had to stay in RI to carry out his obligations and Miami put him on the reserve military list.

welker and hobbs were put on PUP this time last year also, and they turned out fine for the year. so hopefully the same goes w/ crable

or

No, this probably has more to do with the services themselves. While the Army (which has an officer deficiency) made it clear with the Caleb Campbell case that military obligation would be necessary no matter what, the Navy (and Air Force and Marine Corps) is suffering from a glut of officers and have commissioned too many new Ensigns/Lieutenants recently and are likely standing by the old rule where NFL players who made a team out of camp were allowed to defer their entire obligation to reserve and act as recruitment officers for their branch in their team's area.

Eckel was reserve/militaried and therefore had to serve his time. He was discharged early when NFL teams came back knocking (though there were rumblings bad conduct played a role in it as well). If White doesn't make the team out of camp, he will likely have to serve as well. But Belichick clearly thinks he at least has a shot at making the 53-man roster which the other two did not. Belichick also has strong ties to the Navy, so it's likely he has some pull in this department.

Herding lemmings again DI? Pity.

Reportedly the guidelines are now coming down from the Secretary of Defense.

Now I think publicly descrying a legit culling of the heard is in bad taste. It'll mostly be the guys who wanted to behead Cassel last year anyway.

Now where's that UFO...

Re: Gasper: Warren, Crable, Ohrnberger, LeVoir, Richard to A/PUP, Tate, Porter to A/N

What is the "Belichick Test"? :D Sorry for the stupid question, but you made me curious!

Re: Gasper: Warren, Crable, Ohrnberger, LeVoir, Richard to A/PUP, Tate, Porter to A/N

I think we're talking about the conditioning test that players have to pass at the start of camp. In the past, we've seen laggards on exercise bikes on the sidelines while the rest were getting on with some football.

Re: Gasper: Warren, Crable, Ohrnberger, LeVoir, Richard to A/PUP, Tate, Porter to A/N

To me the surprise is that Tate and Porter are on ACTIVE NFI.....Not reserve. It's an option that will be there going forward, but it also means that two more will need to be cut before camp.

Re: Gasper: Warren, Crable, Ohrnberger, LeVoir, Richard to A/PUP, Tate, Porter to A/N

Look on the bright side. Mayo and Meriweather are not on any list.

Also, last year as many as 19-20 players were on PUP.

Well, not that many. Rodney, Kaczur, and BJGE were on Active/NFI. Green, Hobbs, Neal, Oliver Ross, Ruud, Vrabel, Welker, Wendell, and Wright were on Active/PUP. In the end, Neal ended up going on Active/PUP, while Ross flipped over to Reserve/NFI and was cut once his practice period expired.

I was probably thinking of the injury list at some of the
preseason games.

...

Or maybe time to kiss Al Davis ass for Burgess
First the Al Davis joke:
It depends on what is in his diaper.

Guys, chill. It could be anything from a hangnail to Lung Cancer.

Besides unless you can play OLB, there is not much any of us can do. (Unless you believe in meditation or prayer or something. I'll break out my voo-doo dolls, just in case.:))
