Crable, Warren on PUP - Reiss' Pieces - Boston.com

Gasper says all 5 of the PUPs are Active/PUP, meaning they can return to practice at any time.

(UPDATED): Gasper now reports that Tate and Porter went on the Active/Non-Football Injury list, meaning they are treated like the Active/PUP and still count against the 80-man roster. Therefore, they are not out six weeks at this point. The initial report had them on Reserve/NFI.

Pats1, you think that they failed BB's test?

Quite possibly in Crable, Ohnrberger, and Richard's case. Warren and LeVoir were out for OTAs so that's probably a lingering issue there.

That was my thinking after reading this... ;)

If Crable failed the test after all of this, well, that's just not a good sign.

In this case, if Tate and Porter did indeed go on the Reseve/NFI, this frees up the last two roster spots for Ingram and McKenzie. The 5 guys on the Active/PUP still count against the 80.

So they would need an open roster spot to sign McKenzie even if he is immediately put on IR?

Goddamn it Crable. What's wrong with Ohrenberger?

I'm being ever the hopeless optimist thinking BB is stashing depth for use later in the season. Even though I know it's not true.

I don't see how Crable fails the fitness test this year unless he's either legitimately hurt or a lost cause. :(

Nope it isnt, after all the positive feedback you heard about him...

Stryker Sulak, baby!

(In all likelihood, it will most likely go to one of those transitional, fill-the-gap type guys. Think Titus Adams/Lav Bauta. They filled in for PUP guys or unsigned rookies (Mayo) and then, in Bauta's case, were cut.)

Gee-wiz, what the heck's wrong with Crable? he better get his OLB-arse back out there soon. at least the worries of meriweather and mayo are for the moment allayed.

No kidding. Hopefully it's nothing of note, but this is more "bad" than "good."

Gasper says all 5 of the PUPs are Active/PUP, meaning they can return to practice at any time.

He's not entirely clear on it, but Gasper appears to say that Tate and Porter went on the Reserve-Non-Football Illness (not NF-Injury) list, meaning they are out for the first 6 weeks like the Reserve/PUP. I'm assuming Gasper is accurate on this, unless he means they were placed on Active/NFI.

In this case, if Tate and Porter did indeed go on the Reseve/NFI, this frees up the last two roster spots for Ingram and McKenzie. The 5 guys on the Active/PUP still count against the 80.
He must have updated it or something, or I am reading it wrong, because it seems clear to me that it is active NFI:

The Patriots also placed rookie wide receiver Brandon Tate, who is rehabbing a torn anterior cruciate ligament he suffered playing for the University of North Carolina, and offensive lineman Jermail Porter, a converted wrestler, on the active/non-football injury list (NFI).

Crable... BB went out of his way - not THAT long ago - to mention the fact that he and a few others were showing "leadership" by being in Foxborough, training...

I'm late for the freakout. Where's the acid?

Looks like Crable may not be so stable

McGinest is getting closer to signing every day crap news like this happens

Or maybe time to kiss Al Davis ass for Burgess

We don't know why Crable is on the PUP list. We can probably put off committing seppuku until we get the actual story.
