The Ring Bling

Patriots coach Bill Belichick was photographed by a fan during his summer vacation while kicking back on his boat. That, in and of itself, isn't that newsworthy. That is until you see the photos and the name of Belichick's boat, "V Rings." Belichick of course owns five Super Bowl rings - two earned as defensive coordinator of the Giants and three as head coach of the Patriots.

Reading that little snippet on Belichick's "V Rings" made me realize again how close the Patriots were to having two more rings. Anytime someone talks SB's and Team of the Decade, it's joy and a little pain, especially when I think about 2007 and would could have been. Ah well.

V is a good use of roman numerals because it can be added to with three I's before having to completely scrap the name.

I think it's meant to be double meaning. 5 is what he currently has overall and 5 is what he aspires to achieve as a head coach (surpassing Chuck Nolls' 4). I think Belichick is driven to achieve more than any coach before him.

If that was the case, clearly he has vinyl lettering at that is more expensive than the stick-ons from Home Depot. ;-).
