I ask this question to Miguel and the other cap number experts. The Patriots had $6,032,711 in their rookie pool. With 9 of them signed, how much is left to sign the other three, (Chung/Ingram/McKenzie)?
I remember that the Eagles several years ago ran out of money and had to release a DLineman (Brock?) who later signed with Indy..I don't expect the Pats to make such a faux pas but I wonder if they could get creative with McKenzie if need be and could that be why they were alleged to be trying to push Ingram's bonus to 2010????

If I calculated/read/estimated this correctly

Rookie cap pool -New England - $6,032,711
2009 cap number (Thanks Miguel)
2.34 - S, Patrick Chung, Oregon - ??
2.40 - DT, Ron Brace, Boston College $754,000
2.41 - CB, Darius Butler, Connecticut – $750,000
2.58 - OT, Sebastien Vollmer, Houston - $560,000
3.83 - WR, Brandon Tate $498,750
3.97 - LB, Tyrone McKenzie, South Florida (462,500)est’d-*future
4.123 - G, Rich Ohrnberger, $422,750.
5.170 - OT, George Bussey, Louiville - $(348,000) est’d **
6.198 - LS, Jacob Ingram, Hawaii - ($334,250) est’d *** future
6.207 - DT, Myron Pryor, $329,750
7.232 - WR, Julian Edelman, Kent State $322,175.
7.234 - DT, Darryl Richard, $322,000.
--------------
subtotal $5,104,175 out of $6,032,711

leaving a 2009 cap number of $928,536.00 for Chung

*McKenzie estimate based on Beckum picked two slots later Signed (4-years, $2.43M: $620K signing bonus) cap of $462,500(310+152.5)
**Assuming Ingram gets 4 yrs 1.87million with a $97K signing bonus for a cap number of $334,250 (310K +24,250)
***Assuming Bussey got 4-years, $1.92M; $152,300 signing bonus based on the pick signed after him cap number of $348,000 (310+ 38)

I could be totally off the wall...and probably am....
As I write this Reiss is reporting that he is in Foxborough (Foxboro??) so they have an agreement but no numbers have been released...

You might be wrong.

IIRC the cap number for the rookie cap is actually calculated differently than the cap number for the regular salary cap, but I don't recall the exact differences. So while I think your numbers are wrong. I don't know the correct numbers.

The difference you're thinking of, I think, is that it includes all first-year salary cap hits for drafted rookies, and bonuses only for rookie UDFAs.

If you are correct than we are missing the UDFA who have bonuses. They are not on the list.

IIRC Brian Hoyer got a $16K signing bonus but I don't know of any others...

It was Foxboro when I grew up in Milton/Canton many years ago....I didn't know if three Lombardis made them snobby..........enough to add the 'ugh'

While it was "Foxboro Stadium," the official name of the town itself has, IIRC, always been Foxborough.

The signage around the town is pretty much interchangeable. Theres no consistency with either.

I have estimated the total prorated signing bonus amount for the UDFAs is $20,000. There should be an indicator of that amount on the screenshot
