Offense getting it’s 3-4 prep work in – Inside The Bills
“It’s difficult to ask our defense to go into a live practice and run a 3-4 when that’s really not what they run,” he said. ”We’re doing a lot in our walk through periods just to make sure we’re prepared for Monday night against the Patriots because we need to be ready and hit the ground running. That’s what we’re doing right now. We are working on it every day.”

Talk about snakebit!

Hairston expected to miss season with injury
Reported by: Chuck Wade
Last Update: 2:02 pm

Bills running back Justise Hairston is expected to miss the upcoming season after suffering a knee injury during Buffalo's first training camp practice Saturday morning.

"That was so disappointing for the young man to get hurt literally in a walk-thru," Bills coach **** Jauron said Sunday morning, "It was so freakish it involved no contact at all. It's a knee injury and we think it may be a season ending injury. It's very, very disappointing for us, and extremely disappointing for the young man."

Hairston was the Patriots sixth-round pick in 2007, but failed to make New England's active roster.

Well we lost a key draft pick for the season in the OTAs

The Bills offense struggled against 3-4 fronts last season more than they succeeded when it came to passing. The run game worked better against the 3-4s than the pass. What hurt were a lot of long down and distance situations when the opponent knew they were going to pass. New England, New York or Miami would then drop eight men into coverage and there were few places to even take a chance and throw the ball.
For anyone w/ a research mind/free time to investigate data:
So is the bolded statement true? Were they actually successful with the run vs 3-4? (i.e. quantitatively did they gain more than ~4.3 yd per carry on downs 1-2 vs. 3-4 teams??)

Or is the writer just an idiot who doesnt understand that is what the 3-4 is supposed to do is stop the run after a couple of minimal gains and leave you w/ a MUST PASS more easily readable (less options) situation?
