I keep seeing these predictions of a SB rematch this season between our Pats and the NYG. Assuming the Pats hold up their end (which I think is very likely), my question is how many of you really believe Eli Manning can do the same?

IMO, it took the perfect storm for him to do it last time (need I even mention the miracle catch?) and that was WITH Plax and the full compliment of a supremely talented defensive front. The security blanket at wide receiver is gone and (as of this writing) has not been replaced. Strahan retired. Yes they are formidible on defense without him but IMO we saw the more likely Eli outcome last January with a terrible game and an early playoff exit.

Don't get me wrong. I'd LOVE to see that rematch for a number of reasons- not the least of which is I think we'd see the first Pats SB blowout win.

What do you guys think? Can Eli do it again? If not, are the rest of the G-men good enough to give us this rematch in spite of him?

He already sold his soul to the Devil in 2007. He's got nothing left to bargain with.

As good as the Giants defense will be, it won't be enough to make it out of the NFC. Unless Manningham and Nicks breakout, Manning doesn't have any receivers that scare anybody. A lot of people are going to disagree with me, but I think the Eagles and Cowboys are the two best teams in the NFC.

They are missing a lot of key parts to that SB team that they have not replaced. The Eagles look like the best team in the NFC East right now

it will help having Osi back on defense. that line will still be formidable even without strahan. as for manning, I heard he played very well in minicamp, but that was just minicamp. we'll see. I look forward to seeing the nfc east play out this year, but not as much as the afc east :)

Eli struggles big time without Burress. He's not going to have him or Toomer this year. Another thing a lot of people overlook is the loss of Derrick Ward. He was a big part of that vaunted rushing attack. We'll see if Ahmad Bradshaw can fill his shoes. I'm not so sure the Giants are as big of a favorite as some are making them out to be.

The Giants defense can be extremely potent, even without Strahan they have enough strong players to constantly put in fresh players to pressure the QB. Their offense has taken a step back though.

Romo and his Cowboys will self-destruct in the end, it's who they are, you might even see Romo leave football and try to be a pro golfer.

Although the Eagles look damn nasty on paper I also think they'll find a way to lose.
