How did you get that? Her lawyer filed papers Friday. What, do you think lawyers head to court the exact same day something happens? Where did you get "it took her a year to realize"? You have zero idea what has been going on behind the scenes and its not like one day she just popped up at the courthouse with a multi-page...multi-defendant law suit that hadn't ever occurred to her before. Ridiculous.

I'm not taking a side here, but the fact that no criminal charges were filed doesn't mean anything.

A lot of cases are declined by prosecutors because of the lack of evidence. If there's no rape kit, no witnesses, there's no evidence. Not all rape victims go to the hospital for a kit. In fact, I'd bet the majority of them don't. If they show up looking for criminal justice a week later, then guess what the prosecutor is going to say?

They still could be investigating too. Perhaps negotiations were going on to resolve it. Maybe they broke down and the lawyer filed in response. Who knows? Conclusions shouldn't really be jumped to in any direction. Against Big Ben or against her as a bare minimum is known.

Thers no need to get nasty, I'm not attacking you, all i'm pointing out is that why did it take so long for this to come out. Hes a big name star it would be quite hard to keeps this under wraps if she comp[lained a year ago. And why wouldn't it be criminal rape is against the law. I think shes after money.

Let's wait and see.

I can recall a lot of NFL fans who rushed to defend Michael Vick when the first allegations of what was going on in a house in Virginia became known, and I also remember many NFL fans assuming Randy Moss was guilty when a woman in Florida accused him of battery and was looking for a settlement.

It could be a case of somebody trying to shakedown a person with money, it could be a case of a rich and famous jock thinking he can do whatever he wants, or it could be something in the vast gray area in between those two extremes. Let's give it some time before jumping to conclusions.

I'll also be curious to see how Roger Goodell reacts once the facts become public; he can't be happy with this news.

Time will tell, but this smells like the Jerome Bettis and Randy Moss shakedowns to me.
