Good stuff, I'm pretty excited about this guy. He seems to know how to do his job well and is taking the preparation required to do a great job. Plus I'm always looking forward to an extra blog about our team.

I'm glad he anticipates the intense scrutiny he'll be under and the fact he promises to stick to reporting rather than regaling us with his personal opinions. Ah...to be young and vendettaless.

It’s also nice that the Herald has such a tremendous group of reporters covering the Patriots. I’ll join a coverage team that includes Karen Guregian, the ultimate professional, and veteran, plugged-in columnist Ron Borges. I can’t wait to learn from them both.

Learn by not doing the things that landed them at a paper they hate or allowed them to be passed on the depth chart by a 29 year old fresh out of college so to speak...

If you're going to have role models from the Herald, better to make them former ones like Reiss and Breer.

Do not talk to Tomase even at the water cooler. If Felger calls you trolling for locker room gossip for talk show fodder, hang up and have your number changed.

I don't like it... people named Ian just can't be trusted.

;)

Welcome, Ian! You sound like you have all of the right ideas.

Re: Ian Rapoport Herald's new Patriots reporter

I'm reluctantly going to start reading it again - remembering that the paper/editors were at least as responsible as the fat, ugly guy for letting the story run.

The Herald is dead to me.

Re: Ian Rapoport Herald's new Patriots reporter

I'd prefer Ian Logue.

If Ian writes using the approach he touts, then all will be well. More team/player information, considered postgame analysis, that's why I read this site.

Ian Anderson certainly wouldn't work. During an interview with him once, he asked me if they have goalkeepers in baseball.

You might like the new guy, isn't Rappaport a common name amongst your tribe? ;) He does look a bit like Adam Schefter.

If ever there was a case of "Well, he's gotta be better than the guy he's replacing," this is surely it.

But, it will still be a while before I buy a Horrald or click on the web page. The paper is still officially "Dead to Me."

I did think the same thing!

Ian covered a team with a 3-4 defense. Yet Alabama's NT outweighs ours by a good 45-50 pounds.

That's not right.

He also probably has a higher weekly game check.
