Re: Gasper: Bussey, Ingram close

Yup, the personnel side of the Pats has a nice blend of NFL/NEP experience to transition from the Pioli years, all those 'BB is leaving' folks need to get their heads out of cranial-rectal insertion mode and smell the future. :singing:

Just looking at Reese's bio...Didnt know he started in the league as a strength and conditioning coach. No question BB does really like execs with well-rounded and diverse backrounds!

Update: Reiss has him 'on board':

The Patriots have come to an agreement with fifth-round pick George Bussey. According to a league source, Bussey, an offensive lineman from Louisville, has agreed to a four-year deal.

"The only remaining picks who haven't signed or come to terms are the team's top overall pick, safety Patrick Chung, third-round pick linebacker Tyrone McKenzie and sixth-round pick long-snapper Jake Ingram."

Re: Gasper: Bussey, Ingram close

Caserio has also coached for the Pats, meaning that he has a more intricate understanding of the Pats' system-specific scouting needs than Reese does.

I'd say that Caserio's job was as much fun as it was work—after all, how many first-year WR coaches get to work with a corps where Donté Stallworth is a #3 option? :D

When are the Patriots going to make some of these signings/agreements

official? So far, only Butler, Orhnberger, and Richard are official.

They have to get league approval...finalize the deals...and when official make needed cuts

So, are we going to have a long snapper hold out before the inevitable long snapper controversy?

Oh, the turmoil!

IMO, more draft picks have been signed at this point in time than in recent years.

As of now, half of all the first and second round draft picks that hve been signed, have been signed by the Patriots (3/6).
Only two of the first rounders have been signed (Sanchez and Stafford). As for the second rounders, only 4/32 have signed and three of those were by the Patriots ( Butler, Brace and Vollmer). LeSean McCoy by the Eagles was the 4th.

I noticed a couple of quirks on hsi site
1) Some teams are signing all their lower round (3-7) picks for 3 years and others for 4 years.
3 yrs- Arizona, Balt, Carolina, KC, Pitt
4 yrs- NE, Atl,Chi, PHL, Cinn, GB, Mia,NYG
2) Dallas yet to sign any of their 12 picks.......
3) I assume the Pats are waiting to see picks #96 and #98 signed before slotting Tyrone McKenzie because of his injury. what's interesting is that pick #96 Keenan Lewis signed a 3 year deal and those that have signed #98-13 all signed 4 year deals. Since he's losing a year, I'd expect him to sign a 4 year deal..

Why hasn't Ingram signed??? He should have been the 1st player locked up.

I hope he's not another home sick flake like that Boise St TE the team drafted several years ago.

Ingram would normally be paid less than the player drafted 197th

but more than the 199th player drafted. I think the problem may be that

Ingram is a long snapper. The long snapper is usually an undrafted

player with one of the lowest salaries on the team.
