OT: StubHub-Good or Bad?

I can't believe people are still selling their tckets to Stub Hub. Didn't the Patriots win a suit to have all the names of both the sellers and buyers revealed so they can remove them as season ticket holders??

If you're an out of state buyer with no chance or desire (not feasible) to be a season ticket holder, it is the best alternative, even if Mr. Kraft et al has our names.......

Honestly I hate all of the ticket brokers like Stubhub but the problem is that if I'm in Boston I'm going to want to go to a game, be it Red Sox, Bruins, Pats, etc and since the games are normally sold out to a large extent (especially the Sox) before I even buy my plane ticket up there Stubhub is one of the only places to get tickets. So they're a necessary evil to a degree.

This is it, exactly. I would like to be a season ticket holder again (I was a ST holder for 8 years, but ended that run right before the 2001 season) someday... but that will be in the future... I've got a 5 year old and I need to spend every second that I can with her.... therefore, going to every home game is just too much for me... SO: I buy tix to 1 or 2 games per year... stubhub is one of the few places that guarentees the tix... I know the Krafts don't like them AND that they are a bit pricey... but you can/do get good seats and know that you are "set" when you get to the game.

I live outside of MA (in NH) and haven't had an issue here.

Unless Brady and Belichick go you're not getting season tickets, daughter or not. The wait list is over 50000 people now. You might want to get on the list now though because there's a good chance you can get tickets at face value through the ticket exchange that's available to wait list members. As a matter of fact some are available there right now.

Slightly off topic: does anybody know of anybody who had their season tickets revoked (or lost their place in the waiting line) because they used StubHub, or approximately how many people lost their season tickets for doing this?

Also, since the names are being disclosed, couldn't a STH just get a friend, neighbor, cousin, brother in law, co-worker, etc., to sell the tickets in their name? StubHub has the section and row but not the actual seat number; wouldn't that make it safe for someone to use StubHub?

It just sucks that they can buy all of them up before anyone else has a crack and make loads of money off of people. I realize it's the way of the world, but it's still slimy.

My experience with StubHub and ticket brokers in general when dealing with the upcoming Chelsea v. Milan game has really boiled the ol' blood. They didn't sell out until recently (I guess they do keep track of when tickets are bought up on websites), but Ticketmaster had no tickets for the game a day after they went on sale.

A few years ago, I bought some tickets during a presale (waiting list member) and I was forced to buy the same amount of tickets for a preseason game. I decided to put those preseason game tickets on StubHub as I would not have been able to make the trip twice to Foxboro that year.

Last year, I was advised by StubHub that they had to send my name to the Patriots because of a court order. I noticed that this year I didn't get the presale password. I guess I lost that privilege. I think I'm still on the waiting list. I didn't get a letter from the Patriots and I'm still able to access the ticket exchange.

I used them to get Celtics and Bruins tix and they were great. If you wait until too close to the game, you have to pick them up at a near-by bar and pay an extra $15 or so for a convenience fee. It was easy and stress-free.

I really like craigslist the best for day-of-game events. People are getting nervous and let great seats go for below face.

Has anyone used vividseats.com? Looking on there it seems to be slightly cheaper for the out of town Miami game I'm looking at vs stubhub? But I've never heard of them so I'm a little skeptical.

Ive used stubhub many times, never a problem

I just got my stubhub tickets for preseason game#1 vs Eagles in Philly....$30 for end zone 4th row......The crime is that face value is $85........Hopefully Brady plays.

After working in ticketing, Stub hub is legit. They really punish sellers for not providing the tickets they list and force sellers to pay for substitutes if they can't provide the tickets listed. They are guaranteed like none other.

P.S. Just be aware of seat locations. I admit it is hard to decipher the location as a seller because there is lower reserve, reserve, field box, field, etc... that has been my experience. But if they are wrong, Stub will fix you up next time around and punish the seller.

I did buy concert tickets through them with no issue. Quick, easy, and the tickets arrived via FedEx in a couple of days. But I do have a negative story to share that I witnessed first hand.

I have a woman I work with who purchased two sets of tickets for two of her kids last season from Stub Hub. They arrived within a couple of days. On the day of the game they both got to the stadium, and the daughter and her friend got in, while her son and his friend got refused because according to the attendent, the tickets had already been scanned. So they couldn't get in. They were "TicketFast" tickets, so apparently they were simply duplicates that had already been used.

Thankfully someone at the Patriots ticket counter had a couple of seats available which they were able to purchase at face value and they were able to catch the game. Meanwhile after it was over, the mother was livid, called them up, and the good news was she got a refund with no questions asked.

So yes they take care of problems - but imagine being down there and having that happen to you. I was working the day he called her from the stadium - she was so upset. Needless to say that left me a bit leary and I certainly won't purchase any using "TicketFast" tickets going forward.

Stub hub is good. I went on a limb and bought sec 121 row 3 for the jets game from ticket liquidator price seemed low is this a bad row or something? And any info on ticket liquidator the seller is takemetothegame. Can anyone shine some light on this for me?
SUre would appreciate it as I'm taking my son to his first game and don't want any surprises...

My buddy's wife works at Stubhub, if you call them you can get much more info about the tickets as some sellers post the seats as different numbers so they don't get in trouble as season ticket holders. If you call she can call the ticket holder directly and get any info you need.

I was going to buy my ticket for the Ravens game last week through Stubhub, but the area I wanted was about $350. So, I checked on the Pats website for tickets and got my ticket for $160 (section 118, row 9) Seat was awesome. So, just check around a little.

I went to the Bills Jags game 2 weeks ago with 2 of my friends. One of my friend had season tickets in one of the corners of the end zone 2 rows back. He doesn't have them anymore but we went over there and 3 other people were there saying they got those tickets on stub hub for 55 dollars each. So yeah.

There is a confirmation email they are supposed to print and keep with the tickets. They should have been admitted and whoever was in those seats should have been booted. (I think thats how it works). Anyway just bring the Order confirmation and everything should be ok.
