Ian's Daily Blog - The New England Patriots locked up yet another draft choice on Tuesday, with the team reportedly reaching an agreement with rookie draft pick Myron Pryor. According to multiple reports, Pryor signed a four-year deal which ProFootballTalk.com reports included a $79,000 signing bonus. Pryor was selected in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft (207th overall). [...]

Watching that video ... does he remind anyone of
Warren Sapp but a bigger version that is?
He looks like that to me.

I was thinking of the same thing. I was wondering if they draft him to generate pass rush on the inside? The various scouting reports seems indicate that he is more suited to one gap, 4-3 scheme than 3-4.

From the title I thought the video would be of him actually signing, and I get actual highlights instead?

false advertising if you ask me....

on the real, great highlights...WELCOME!

Recall that our Vince was considered "Baby Sapp" coming out of Miami. The simple (in both meanings of the word) draft experts writing the scouting reports rarely do more than project what a player does in college into the NFL - one-gap penetrators do not change (until they find themselves in NE working for Coach Pepper).

WOW. That video is extremely impressive. It's not even a highlight video of a season; all those plays were from his one day at Shriners.

I think Pryor has a shot to beat out Wright or Brace on the DT depth chart.

Yes . but it looks like Pryor is quicker than Vince. The thing I liked was
how low Pryor gets with driving Power and once he's got a guy moving
back he makes a move to get by the off balanced line man.
I really like what I saw.
I think BB has got talent this year to do a lot of different things very well.

I agree. Good to have you back posting on this board again (after the nfl draft break).

Just an observation about the guys who produced the video. I noticed that the Patriots drafted/signed UDFA some of the less known/hyped players that impressed the drafyguys at East vs West, Texas vs Nation and the Senior bowl practices/games. This year it was Vollmer and Pryor. Last year it was Guyton, Wilhite and Green-Ellis.

Mo Pryor was once considered to be a very high future draft pick. But his later college career fell on hard times.

If the Patriots can find that early Pryor, he will turn into a very good pick. Right now, I think he is the most likely to be a "find" in the 5th round and beyond. Lately the Pats have been finding at least one Gem among the UDFAs, annually. Its early but I don't see one now, aside from Boyer possibly. Pryor will turn out to be great ... or a bust.

The Pats might go from only one NT, to three viable players in this draft.

I'll play along, Jamar Love - punt gunner with 4.3 speed - possibly.

I'm expecting Jamar to wind up on the Practice Squad, which also happens to be a strong possibility for Pryor at this point.
