So who's pumped? St. Pierre vs. Alves? Mir vs. Lesnar? Those should be two pretty good fights. I'd like St. Pierre to win, as he's such a great competitor, but I've also admired Alves' nasty striking since he came to the UFC. That should be great, especially to see if Alves can stave off St. Pierre's takedowns.

As for Mir/Lesnar, I don't see Brock getting caught in a simple leg lock/kneebar again, but Mir can definitely catch him with something. If Mir can wear down LEsnar by staying close and avoiding those huge hams that Brock has for fists, he could pull it off. I think Brock wins if it's a standup war.

Thoughts?

Not sure what channel I can get this on over here now as Setanta (who normaly shown all UFC bouts) has gone out of business. Might have to get a stream I think.

As you know I'm more of a casual fan but I know theres some quality fighters on show and I'm looking forward to watching it......if I can

I've been waiting forever for this to come around and it's finally here.

I like Lesnar but I would love to see Mir win. Mir looked incredible standing up in his last fight vs Nog but I'm sure he doesn't want to stand and trade with the beast that is Lesnar.

I would love to see Alves KO GSP. I really don't mind who wins the Hendo - Bisping fight, I just want it to be a good one.

I'm sure they'll be good. I kind of want Lesnar to win, but I'm afraid of what happens if he does. Wildo (where are you man? Hope you're well!) and I were talking about how Lesnar is an amazing competitor but unfortunately is turning on a lot of people to the sport who don't really understand how it works and thinks it's the WWE with real fighting. It's not, nor should it be. That's obviously not Lesnar's fault, I'm just nervous that if he wins more of these idiots will come; I'm sick of these fans booing fighters that train their butts off to be top-notch MMA athletes. But I also want the UFC and fighters to get the money they deserve, so c'est la vie...

Anyway, I'm excited for the GSP/Alves fight. Love GSP, but it will be interesting to see how he deals with Alves' power. The Henderson/Bispig fight will be good too. I think Bispig will win, but I'm rooting for Henderson. Bispig is a great fighter, I just can't like him for whatever reason. He really should've lost that split decision to Matt Hammill.

Anybody know much about Akiyama? He's a judo guy, so I'm rooting for him. I guess I didn't know that Mark Coleman was fighting either. That's a surprise.

Not much,I 've seen a few Youtube videos of his fights though. I think Belcher has a very good chance of winning this fight despite being the dog.

All I have to say is Brock Lesnar = d1ckhead. What a disrespectful move to do what he did after the fight. I understand the emotions involved, but come on. Wildo, you were completely right. He doesn't understand that mma isn't wrestling, and I don't think his fans will either.

hopefully someone breaks his ****y ass in half one of these days and teaches him a lesson

Ok, I'm back:D Great night for GSP, so I'm happy about that. Felt sorry for Bisping, that was a vicious KO. And yeah you pretty much know how I feel about Lesnar. Only Fedor can save us now. What an a-hole. The thing that really annoys me about it, and this may just be sour grapes, is that no other division would have guys fighting each other who are 50 lbs apart. Mir, in my mind is a vastly better fighter, but nobody can overcome that difference in size and strength. Unfortunately I think we're gonna be stuck with this douche for a long long time.

Other than that the night went pretty much as I expected. Belcher looked good and I didn't have a huge problem with the decision though I think Akiyama needs to move down a weight class, he looks like he's gonna struggle to compete at that weight. Fitch looked great as always and I haven't been able to find the Jon Jones or Mark Coleman fights but I hear they were pretty impressive.

Sorry I didn't see this before. I'm a big fan of Akiyama, the guy has dominated in Japan for a whilem, but as he alluded to before the fight the competition is much stiffer here. I think he needs to drop down in weight, he didn't really get to showcase his throws and athleticism against a bigger (and superior striking) Belcher tonight IMO.

Oh cool. Did he compete in Pride at all? I'm a huge judo fan, so I always will root for judokas in most fights. He went for a few, but the clinch game wasn't really there for him.

You make a good point about the heavyweight class. Brock is talented and everything, I was just floored by the amount of disrespect he showed. The ONLY reason he got a shot so fast was because Randy wanted to fight him. I do want to see Fedor come over, but I don't know if that will ever happen. For whatever reason, Fedor seems hesitant about coming to the UFC.

I was happy for GSP too. Some people were saying what a good matchup Alves was for him. It wasn't even close haha. What an athlete he is. This articles about GSP is right on:
