Pittsburgh remembers...it was God's fault and the Patriots cheated

well that put a big smile on my face. especially the comments. Great stuff.

Sane fans. Who knew it was possible?

Very interesting. A couple thoughts:

1) I didn't believe the '01 Patriots were capable of beating the Rams in the Super Bowl... UNTIL they won that AFCCG. After that, I was like, "Holy s***, they're going to pull this off." All that week I was telling anyone who would listen, "Mark my words - the Patriots WILL win this game."

2) One of my all-time favorite Patriots memories is the film of that one player (can't remember - Brian Cox?) waving his towel at the crowd in Pittsburgh that day and yelling, "Cancel all yo' reservations!!!" :D

Only bad part is that we blew the Jets and Colts games last year or there's a big possibility we have 3 entries on that list.

I believe that was Big Willie.

I'm surprised there has been only one "they cheated" comment so far, especially after the writer finished the second column feeding the bait by talking about spygate and Arlen Specter's thinly veiled accusations.

The comments in the first article give a bit of a glimpse as to one reason why Pats fans are accused of being bandwagon fans. Apparently because a "Yankees suck" chant may randomly occur at a Patriots game or event, that makes those in attendance less "real" Pats fans - which in turn makes them bandwagon fans. I don't really agree with the logic, but at least I'm getting an idea where these foks are coming from now.

Overall these are the most level-headed and rational discussions of those games that I have ever seen by Steeler fans. Like Deus said, sane fans; who knew it was possible?

Bitterness and insanity are on hiatus now that the Steelers occupy their rightful place in the universe. Wait 'till they lose a game.

The fan comments on there really aren't bad at all. Actually informative and interesting. I'd never heard that story about Troy Edwards, that's pretty funny.

That game was super sweet. I remember it was on the Jewish Sabbath, Saturday. As a Jew, I had to record it and watch hours after the game had commenced.

I couldn't believe how intense McGinest and Vrabel played that game. Vrabel just destroyed people. In one play he was a blur on the slow motion, decleating someone standing around the play.

The intensity was incredible. And having Bledsoe throw the winning TD was special, as I had fond feelings for the man.

:D

sorry, couldn't resist...

Boo Hoo, poor Steeler fans; 6 SB titles and they feel they got jobbed out of another due to pure luck and yet another due to cheating.

They lost both games because BB outcoached Sgt Slaughter, made him look foolish in both games as a matter of fact; we're talking about a coach who prior to finally winning a Super Bowl was a miserable 1-4 in AFCCG's at home, he had to go on the road to finally win one.....................

It's a little bit different because this is a unique situation.

They have 6 SB with 2 of the last 4 but they also have an inferiority complex. It's tough because even with these stats, the Pats are the alpha team in the NFL and that's really hated. They are akin to the Redskins or Giants during the 49er era. I also believe most fans here know SB XLIII was not possible if Brady doesn't get hurt. A perceived "gift" Lombardi can really irritate.

We also are 5-2 against them since 2001. Naturally, they would like to supplant the Colts as our main rival. It really bugs people here when I tell them the Steelers are mid level rivals.

I would also state that a good percentage of Steeler fans would prefer to beat a Brady led Pats team in the playoffs than win the Super Bowl.

Steeler fans hate the Pats way more than Pats fans hate the Steelers, at least I know that's true for me and everyone I know. Steeler fans I tell this too don't understand, and it just infuriates them more.

He wanted too, but the moment was kind of intense and he was typing one-handed so he dropped the excess letters. :yeeha:

Steelers fans can be unintentionally funny.
