That's a little bit later in the day this year, isn't it? I thought I remembered both sessions used to start about an hour earlier.

double sessions scheduled every day the first week?

Yep ... bit of a change from past years.

Thanks Chris.

Aug. 1: 9:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.; 3:45 p.m. - 5:30 p.m

I'm there.

Chris is this subject to change doubles the whole fist week seems excesive. In the past they alternated between singles and doubles?

As far as I remember it's been a double then single and basically alternating..so this is a big change. Also. I believe the early start time was a bit earlier in the AM. And the big change is that this schedule is out 4 weeks before camp. THAT has never happened.

Here's what the schedule was for the first week last year:

Pats camp starts July 24 - Reiss' Pieces - Boston.com

THURSDAY, JULY 24
8:45 - 10:30 a.m. Morning practice
5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Evening practice
FRIDAY, JULY 25
2:30 - 4:30 p.m. Afternoon practice
SATURDAY, JULY 26
Training camp practices are closed to the public due to the New England Country Music Festival.
SUNDAY, JULY 27
8:45 - 10:30 a.m. Morning practice
5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Evening practice
MONDAY, JULY 28
2:30 - 4:30 p.m. Afternoon practice

In comparison to the first week a year ago, not only are there the back-to-back two-a-days, but they are also held when it is hotter (later for the first session and earlier for the second session.)

Well just hope the guys are ready this schedule looks rough and BB isnt slowin down for nobody.

4 weeks and then it starts, thank god...

Sounds like Bill wants to stress fundamentals pretty heavily with all the younger guys he's brought in the past two drafts.

Bill Belichick is a genius. All the hype, press, and talk about this team going undefeated (or better than the 07 team) doesnt mean your not gonna work for a SB. The 07 team never had the same press in the beginning this team is having now, and they were notoriously worked. This training camp schedule looks brutual but i think the players need to be grounded.

Yep. Sounds like BB is planning on getting some serious work done this summer. They'll need it with all the new faces, and young faces.

It could also be that after the long off season BB does not have to rest the veterans as much as he has in the past, which means more practices are needed to make sure everyone gets enough reps.

I'll be seeing more camps than usual (If I'm still unemployed). I usually go to 3 or 4 a year.

Looking at the schedule, it looks like BB is going to ensure the team is ready. Think the Pats will bring in another QB for camp? That's alot of reps for 3 guys.
