WEEI.com: Pats Rookies Among Those Getting Schooled At Symposium

Hopefully this years rookies are as smart as last years.

I simply refuse to believe the story that Brad Childress put out there that this was the guy the Patriots really wanted.
Yeah, I agree. There are so many reasons the Pats would not consider have considered Harvin with that pick. The only question I have is whether or not Childress really believed what he said - or was it (a) a sell job to Vikings fans, and/or (b) a simply a shot at Belichick/self promotion.

I suppose ten or fifteen years from now we'll eventually find out from people that were involved on both sides.

If I could make one wish, it would be to read a tell all book from BB :D

Yeah, it's not like BB's a guy that holds grudges or anything. . . . :)

Oh you cynical and jaded ink-stained wretches.

Wait a minute ! BB wanted Harvin. He also, if memory serves, wanted Gholston. And, if I'm not mistaken, the Pats would be way better of with both. To think that BB would settle for Mayo last year still gets me in a frenzy. Our pass rush ! Our pass rush ! Mayo doesn't rush ! I wonder if the new NYJ administration would take Mayo off our hands - straight trade - for Gholston...

Yea BB would have loved to get Harvin in the third round

(UPDATE: This year's rookie class managed to make it back-to-back -- word out of Florida Wednesday morning was that the Patriots' rookies won the challenge again this year.)

Shouldn't be surprising that the Pats rookies won this event.

Patriots rookie class makes the grade by Gayle Fee and Laura Raposa of the Boston Herald

First off, there’s defensive tackle Darryl Richard, picked in the seventh round of the draft, who earned his bachelor’s degree from Georgia Tech in three years and already has an MBA.

Then there’s defensive lineman George Bussey, taken in the fifth round. He gave up a full scholarship to culinary school for a chance to kick it up a notch as a walk-on to the Louisville football team. Talk about out of the frying pan into the fire!

Top pick Patrick Chung, a safety from Oregon, loves to draw in his spare time. And snapper Jake Ingram, a surfer dude from Hawaii, is also a certified fork-lift operator. So he’ll never starve.
