Every morning I go and read the Bills sites to get my daily laugh. Today I have to share this with you.

They are predicting a win over the Patriots in Foxboro and why, because it is the first game and they got TO.

Does anybody really think that Tom Brady is not going to be ready for this game? He has something to prove and the Bills are an excellent team to show that he is back.

Oh and they are starting with the Bills are going 12-4 again, and that they will win the first seven games.

Better than Comedy Central, the Bills boards.

LOL, thier all the same. I also go to the Miami Heralds board and read their slop about how great they are and can't wait to demolish us and the division again this year.:D I gonna really luv this season!:singing::singing::singing:

Its not only there, its happening here too. I'm placin a bet with one Bill's fan for a $100 bar tab. Not a bad way to win some free beers.

I'd be willing to wager that T.O. will look good in the opener since it will be his first game with his new team and he'll be relatively happy - at least for the first half. But to think the Bills will win, that's just madness.

I'm guessing that if you go around to fan forums of all 32 teams at this time of year that most, with a few exceptions, will be overly optimistic about their team's chances. I'm thinking that even Lions, Rams and Bengals fans are probably full of confidence right about now. Then moments after the first preseason weekend precisely half of those forums will be filled with enraged fans calling for their head coach to be fired and their quarterback to be benched.

I think it is safe to say that the vast majority of people who comment on fan forums fall in to one of two categories: delusional homers who are overly optimistic about their team's chances, and the doom and gloomer chicken littles for whom the glass is always half empty and are never satisfied, even in victory. Those that are able to look at their team objectively are in the minority on most of these boards.

Perhaps I am being a delusional homer myself, but I do feel patsfans.com does have a larger percentage of people who comment that fall between those two extremes than most other sites, making it worthwhile to come here for a visit and see what others have to say. I'm not so naive as to believe it always has or always will be that way, but that's my perception relative to what is written on other fan forums.

Just speculating, but if I had to venture a prediction for the Bills this year it will be another losing season with TO ending up as the goat for it.
If he whines and the team fails = his fault
If he doesn't produce pro-bowl numbers and the team fails = his fault
Basically if the Bills fail = his fault

In order for this to turn out his way the Bills need to win a playoff game AND he'll need pro-bowl stats in the process.
Unfortunately for Bills fans TO's stats came while he was a member of very good offensive teams with solid starting QB's, something the Bills don't have. TO's numbers will be a reflection of this.

I kinda feel sorry for TO this year.

You're right, but you are kind of being a homer when you say this place is different.

Look at all the threads here about going 16-0 again. This kind of stuff happens on every teams board, homers just don't notice it when it's their team because they agree.

And I think TO is so overrated it's not funny. The guy is 35 and he's just a cancer. I haven't actually looked at the Bills but the law of averages says they can't keep going 7-9 forever, right?

Don't get me wrong, I don't disagree that this board has it's fair share of overly optimistic homers; I shake my head when I see people apparently actually believing the team will go 19-0. And trust me, there will be plenty of chicken-little doom-and-gloomers here over reacting after a loss in preseason too.

It just seems to me that there does seem to me to be a slightly higher percentage of intelligent football talk here than on other fan sites, with a bit more objectivity. If I said something positive about the Steelers or Roethlisburger here there would definitely be a few fans that would let me know they disagree, but for the most part we could have a civil, rational discussion. But if for example a Pittsburgh fan said something positive about Brady on one of the Steeler forums he would instantly be shouted down en masse, and probably end up being banned from the site.

Once the season gets under way there tends to be a pretty decent amount of insightful analysis, breaking down the performance of specific plays and players; going far beyond who made the catch or tackle but looking at who a guard missed his assignment or why a linebacker was able to force the opponent to do something differently which resulted in somebody else making the play. That's the kind of discussion I really enjoy being a part of that I haven't found all that much of elsewhere.

I got news for ya T-Bone, if you honestly think that Brady is going to step right in to any game situation that's not practice and fully expect him to not think about someone GUNNING for his knees, you are sadly mistaken. Ask any other NFL player who has had the same injury. The worst part about a torn ACL and MCL is the psychological devastation. He can flap his gums all he wants, the truth of the matter is, he won't be the same for a while.

Maybe so, but even with Cassell at QB we still slapped the Bills around like a red-headed stepchild, and throwing TO into the mix isn't going to put the Bills over the hump.

That you did, a 13-0 blowout in the final game of the season, congrats. Funny thing is, that 11th win was still not good enough for you to make the playoffs. I know, I know, we haven't made the playoffs in 10 years. Maybe this year with an 8-8 record we'll be able to back our way into the playoffs like the Chargers did last season.

Yeah, fans of a team getting excited during the offseason. Wow, crazy stuff there man.

All I know is that the Bills haven't been to the playoffs and are on pace for their 2nd most season ticket sales and the only time more season tickets was during the midst of the Super Bowl years. We have the best fanbase in football.

And I'm sure there will be the brilliant shots about the city of Buffalo to follow, but we are what the NFL should be about. I realize there are some great, die hard Pats fans that I have personally met, but in the pre Bledsoe years, I remember a lot of quarter filled Foxboro Stadiums. It's easy to be a fan after winning a championship.

Good point. Jeff Garcia and Tony Romo were superstar, annual pro bowl QBs before TO. Oh wait, Garcia was palying for the first time in the NFL after being in Canada for the start of his career and Romo was an UDFA. But good, valid point there. :)

Edwards is young QB, who had ups and downs last year. If he stays healthy (and that's been a big If for him), he will have a breakout year. At lot easier to cover Evans when you're other threats are Josh Reed (a good #3) and Robert Royal.

If overrated is a guy with 1,000 + yards and 10 tds after playing with 67 year old Brad Johnson for 3 games, I'll take that every day for 6.5 million.

Check TO's stats for his first year with a new team. He's not coming back next year, so he will be playing for his last contract. Are you confident enough to bet against a motivated TO playing with the best receiver he's had since Jerry Rice on the other side? I won't.

Damn, if you guys won 11 games you would burn Buffalo down in celebration. Don't worry about Tom Brady, he is somebody you guys don't have, a player with heart who has something to prove. Every pro football annual has the Bills at best 7-9, most have them 5-11.

The delusions of Buffalo Bills fans continue.

Will miracle's never cease. We made it to 4 straight SB's and the city of Buffalo is still standing. A goal post might come down if we make the playoffs but that'll be the extent of it. Tom Brady still has something to prove? 3 SB's wins is not enough? Tom Brady will prove something this season without a doubt, that he can be beaten.

Too bad wishful thinking doesn't count.

Talk about wishful thinking. How is it that Patriots fans on this message board are already claiming a Super Bowl victory when they haven't even been to training camp yet?

Maybe because almost every preseason pro football annual is picking the Patriots to win the Super Bowl this year. At least we have a basis for our hopes.

What do you guys got, Edwards, TO, and Jauron? Good luck with that.
