Wow, the Steelers continue to get less love as SB champs than a team that didn't even make the playoffs.:D It's funny that NE has been voted the most overrated team, though.

Wilfork's rating is a joke. He's one of the best NT's in the game and his rating has stayed at 90 for like three year's straight. Also, James Sanders being rated higher than Merriweather is comical.

They have some awful ratings!!

KO'C at 41!!!! The ratings are CRAP!

Wilfork is a joke. Merriweather is a joke. Sammy Morris is a joke. To me, even Wes Welker is rated slightly lower than I think he should be. OH, Mayo is also a joke. Also, I gotta be honest in saying I think they showed Brady just a little too much love on the rating. He's the best QB in the league and all, but he is coming off a major injury that caused him to miss ALL of last season.

Isn't this a video game and the idea behind it is that you can have your favourite team play against your pals favourite team and have a good game.

I presume thats the case anyways, its fantasy land and the ratings mean nothing. Why anybody would get upset over this is way over my head:confused:

I'm not upset about anything FWIW. I haven't even played Madden since 2004. I do have an opinion, however, and I was just voicing that. Also, they included Harrison in the game. He'd definitely be on my roster if I was to ever buy the game. It's just banter in a boring offseason stretch . . . well, for me anyway. I can't speak for anyone else.

A lot of those ratings suck.

Seymour better than Wilfork?

Tightends that bad? Mayo not in the 90s?

Our secondary sucks that bad? (fair enough if they didn't know that we basically have 5 new players)

Do they even watch our games?

Madden ratings are usually off anyway, at least from what I could see over the years. I don't really play them anymore because I've lost interest. I don't believe I've played a version since 2004. I'd rather play FIFA or SF4.

Manning a 99 with Brady a 97? for shame

Man, those ratings were rough. Wheatley at 62? Mayo at 88? Meriweather 79? Guyton 70, and Woods 67? I'm sorta okay with Brady only being a 97 I guess, since he's coming off of an injury, but Moss/Welker being 96/91 is kinda lame. Then again, they overrated our OL pretty severely, so it balances out.

Going to be stupidly easy to throw on the Pats with those ratings, though. Not that I really care, Madden's sucked for a solid 4 years or so. Back in college I played an absolute ton of Madden, but when I do play video games nowadays I play better ones.

wow, that 2ndary is underated..................lol im gonna get raped online

It's a video game, and one that hasn't been good for over half a decade. Why should anyone care what the player ratings are?

Just a shot in the dark, but it could be because it's still one of the most popular games out there. I don't like it either, but tons of people play it, and I'm sure a lot of them post here.

Here is the thing, this year for the first time ever they are making the game more realistic. For years online, it seemed like every QB was the same, no matter if you were using Manning, Brady or JT O'Sullivan or Tavares Jackson. Honestly, last year I ran my offense with Brady, Cassel and O'Connell, with what seemed like little if any drop off (actually with O'Connell's speed and agility, I was able to take off a little more from the pocket.)

What they are shooting for is superstars to be different than average players to be different than bums. Instead of basing an offense on jump ratings, which has been a staple of the online community since it started 6 or 7 years ago, or height, they want you to use the team like they play in real life, if you want to chuck it up with Tavares Jackson like he is Tom Brady every down, you will pay (in theory.)

Madden has finally taken some stuff from NFL 2K5 after 5 years (online franchise, realistic ratings,) and I am actually excited for this year's version.

But it's not as if Wilfork's going to go out on the field and say "Well, I'm only a 90 on Madden, so I'll just give a "90" effort. It's a video game, and it's been a pretty bad one in a lot of ways since even before they got the exclusivity.

For the Wilfork point: so what?
For the quality of the game: that's just your biased opinion. Some people here prefer to keep it a little more objective ;)

Exactly. They stretched out the ratings allowing them to be more precise and creating larger difference between players. Instead of every player being between 70ish-100 now it goes from 40ish-100, meaning an 88 for Mayo is a lot better than an 88 in past years. So when viewing many of the Pats ratings in terms of the old rating system, it may seem like there's several players WAY undervalued, but its not really that bad. After looking around at the entire league and comparing players, I feel most of the ratings are fair... well... except for Wilfork. No idea how he can be a 90 even with the new system.

Seymour better than Wilfork? My god, what a complete outrage.

You mean a 5 time pro-bowler, 3 time SB winner, and the best 3-4 DE in the league is better than a NT who needs to be taken off the field after 2nd down?

I realize that Wilfork is one of the best 3-4 NT's in the game, but Seymour does a lot more here than some give him credit for. It's not as big a travesty as you're making it out to be.

That's not a travesty at all. Seymour IS significantly better than Wilfork. Wilfork is a good player but he's nowhere near Seymour's league.

Go watch Wilfork get pancaked on the deciding TD in the 2006 AFC Championship Game loss to Indy and tell me how awesome he is. Please. Wilfork's position is the most important part of our defense but Wilfork himself is not. Seymour is not only our best Dlinemen, he's the best Dlinemen in the entire league and has been all decade.
