Just picked up a copy of TSN 2009 NFL Preview magazine.

They predict the Patriots going 13-3 and winning the AFCE, defeating the Titans in the AFCCG, and going to the Super Bowl. I won't ruin this thread by including their SB prediction.

They rated our draft B+.

On a personal note, I got a Fathers Day gift of a set of Patriot logo club head covers, to go along with my Taylor Made Burner Driver. Life is good!:rocker:

I haven't seen this magazine, but most magazines that are out now predict the Pats to win the super bowl. However, Lindy's has really gone down hill. Their player rankings are really bad and rank the Titans and Broncos as the best secondaries in the NFL. Also, they rank Shawne Merriman as being the best OLB in the NFL over DeMarcus Ware and James Harrison who terrorized opposing QB's last season. Last but not least, they have the Chargers/Titans in the AFCCG and the super bowl is between the Eagles and the Chargers. Don't get me wrong, I'm not mad because they didn't predict the Pats to win the super bowl, I'm more mad about their player and team rankings.

Actually, Tony Brown and Jason Jones both played very well in rotation with Haynesworth and in his place when he was out 2 weeks. If SenDerrick Marks can play up to his potential then the Titans D shouldn't dropoff too much.

Every year people dismiss Tennessee's chances and every year the Titans seem to overachieve. They're a tough team.

I buy all the mags and they are all across the board. I saw one having San Deigo winning. I saw a few having the Pats winning. I saw one have the Eagles winning. I look at these mags as pure entertainment and looking back in January to see how wrong they are.

The one surprise to me it the near universal opinion that the Jets would finish last in the division. I would have thought that they would have all bought into the Jets' defense and Rex Ryan. I guess they realize that the QB position may be their downfall and their defense isn't good enough to make up for it.

And they have the Giants beating us again. It's actually a very good preview mag, well done. It's done with the old Street & Smith guys I believe. I like everthing about it except their prediction. That being said, if we could go 13-3, with THAT difficult schedule and get back to the SB, I'd be thrilled, but would hope for a SB victory.

I will shave my ass if the Titans go to the AFC Championship game.

Broncos best secondary? Really? The Titans is one of the best; Finnegan is one of the most under rated players in football and Michael Griffin has quitely been one of the league's best free safeties and Chris Hope doesn't give up much himself at the strong.

I don't have much of a problem calling Shawne Merriman the best OLB in football. Look at the effect his absence had on the Chargers defense last year? Antonio Cromartie and Shaun Phillip were completely exposed due to his non-existence.

But yeah, that Broncos comment is crazy. I get PFW's season preview every year and really enjoy reading it. They do their work in their player scouting department (although they rate Ronnie Brown as the 21st tailback which is ridiculous.)

I also got Athlons this year which is a pretty good mag in its own regard.

Well I'm not sure if the OP wanted to reveal that part but I guess I will let you know. Well they have the Lions beating us.

What kind of odds are you willing to give me on a Patriots, Lions Super Bowl? :D

The Titans have a good secondary, but are they just a product of their front seven's success last season? Albert Haynesworth finally made an impact with the Titans after being drafted 7 years ago. Now that he is gone, who is coming after the QB? Vanden Bosch is a good player but he can never be counted on. But your right, Finnegan, Hope and Griffin are good players. However, I want to see how they do without that fierce pass rush they had last season. I expect them to regress a little.

Shawne Merriman is definitely one of the best LB's in the NFL. However, it's disrespectful to guys like Ware who put up 20 sacks, Porter's 17.5 sacks and Harrison's ridiculous 100 tackles, 16 sacks and 1 interception. In no order, the best game changing LB's in the NFL right now are the guys I listed above.

USA has a better chance of winning against Spain on Wednesday in the FIFA Confederation Cup than the Lions have to even get in the playoffs.

If you read the Jets write up. He has Damien Woody as a "young bookend tackle" and "can improve on last years rookie season".

This was written by a reporter from a Miami paper.

Are you for real? What an idiot.

You may be onto something with that and the back four can certainly gamble a little bit with the run stuffing ability and the pocket collapsing presence Albert Haynesworth offered, I think they should be able to find production from a cast of characters. Jason Jones was awesome as a rookie. Whether he kicks inside or stays at end is unknown, but he'll contribute. I think Jovan Haye and Sen'Derrick Marks can control the gaps a little bit on the inside too.

I do see a serious regress from them, man, I do. But I wouldn't blame it on their secondary. I have this missing the playoffs this year, though.

HEY BRO! WHAT UP? said:

Agreed. The only players in the NFL I'm taking over DeMarcus Ware right now are Peyton Manning, Drew Brees and Tom Brady.

No way! That's unbelievable.

i can't call merriman the best olb in the nfl or close, till he proves he's healthy again

that's the same reason we haven't offered him a contract extension

show and prove....

as for cro, i'm hoping his problem was the bad hip, cause if he has another year like last year, he's looking at being gone probably.
