Was checking on the Sox score, and went to the play by play. Ellsbury singles, steals second, scores on infield hit by Green.
BTW, Ortiz homered again.

Seems Ortiz was on roids ... hemroids which have healed .

Seriously ... if Ortiz hits just average numbers the rest of the year we are in good shape.

No.. we're ****ed. Didn't you know the Yankees have a 200 million payroll and their pitching will get them by us? ;)

Does Kobe play for them?

Yea, but what about L'sbury? The dude is going to have a highlight reel this year of running. Stealing home against the Yankees. Scoring from second on an infield hit.
I'd still like to see scoring from second on a passed ball.

He's done it already. Just not this season I believe.

I know, I'd just like to see it on UTube or somewhere. I always thought the "fastest" story was when Carl Crawford scored from second on a sacrafice fly. Re-thinking that, Damon was probably 'throwing' the ball in, thus, it wasn't really that close. But, to score from second on a passed ball? I'm sure he had a big lead........still.

These are so not our grandfathers Red Sox anymore, just amazing how this team is now structured. Speed kills; I remember Willy Wilson of the Royals used to do the same thing; infield hit, steal second, advance on a ground out, sac fly, one zip Royals, over and over and over.

The last 5 plus years have wiped out 35 years of me ripping my hair out watching this team "slug" their way to second place or lose yet another world series.

Those days are ova.....................

There was another Royal who did the same thing, way, way, back. Can't think of his name, ss. Saw him steal his way around the bases once including home.

The Sox have the rare ability to manufacture runs or go station-to-station at any time.
I have so much faith in the current brain trust...almost like Bioli.

Theo and co. should be acknowledged for having the foresight to see the direction the game was going in after the steroid era. Nice work!

I heard that the other night by some commentator (possibly Peter Gammons) that there was a quote by Theo saying that exact thing at that point in time.

Boy someone posts a thread about him and he goes and commits his first error of his Red Sox career...talk about jinxing him ;)

I read that this morning and was surprised. The way he constantly dives after balls you'd figure one would have bounced off his glove by now.
The other bit of news which was also surprising, was Penny saying when the Sox signed him he didn't think he'd be pitching this year?
