I kinda want him to play.

/Auto pick draft gave me Favre.

Are we suddenly worried about the Vikings:confused:

Unbelievable. can't he just retire once and for all. Hang it up old man!
Maybe his life would be over if could not play football?

Maybe he just wants one season to end by some means other than him getting picked?

OT: Mr. Model Brady wants to play. Jets want him.

Imagine reading that on some message board 10 years from now? I have to imagine many Packers fans are starting to quite dislike Favre...

goodness....year after year with this.....

Why should he quit playing a game he loves when he can still make millions playing it? If his shoulder is healthy, this move would make the Vikings the clear favorites to win that division, and would also likely make the Vikings one of the favorites to win the NFC.

valid point...any team stupid enough to pay him millions of dollars has only itself to blame for the season ending pick and broken heart the ol' gunslinger has made into an art form.

you really think so?

I think more likely his repaired shoulder gives out somewhere during the
season and goes IR or plays hurt.

He's had the surgery on the arm and they are now monitoring his progress. Nothing is definite, but this is the player with the longest games played streak in NFL history. Had he not gotten hurt last year, the Jets would have won the division going away and would probably have had a first week bye. He had that Jets team at 8-3, and had just helped the Jets get past the Patriots and Titans.

I can't imagine that fans of the other teams in that division would prefer to face Favre rather than Jackson or the Rosencopter.

On the flip side, Lord Favrequad also f***ed up their QB developmental pipeline, so we owe him thanks for that, at least. ;)

Vikings won the division without him last year, didn't they? According to the Joey Porter rules of power rankings, that makes them prohibitive favorites to win their division again this year.

Serioiusly, with Favre, they will not be representing the NFC at teh superbowl. Probably won't even win their division.

I don't really see this, so perhaps you could explain your thinking to me. They went from Pennington to Favre to Sanchez. I don't see any screw up there, although I do hope that Sanchez bombs.

Aside from the annual "play/retire" drama that gets played out in public rather than privately, it seems like Favre has another motive. If he wants to play the game and/or make millions, great; all the power to him. But instead it appears that he's become obsessed with getting even with Ted Thompson and exacting revenge against the Packers for having the audacity to decide it was time to move on.

From the day Green Bay decided that they needed to go with a new QB, the only team Favre has wanted to play for is the Vikings. In my opinion that tells me his motivation is not love of the game or money; it's a personal vendetta. To me that is what I find very unsettling in this whole matter.

This isn't about Brett Favre's love of the game or wanting to win; it's about him trying to make Thompson look bad with no regards to the fans who cheered him on and made him rich and famous. It's as if he wants to figuratively spit and stomp on the Packers logo for his own self-satisfaction. It just seems very selfish and petty to me.

All the athletes I know who had any level of success (high school and up) would have done pretty much anything to stick it to the coach/team that had hosed them. It's part of the sporting mentality. Anyone who reads this message board can see that the fans have it as well. I'm sure Mr. Branch figured that out in a hurry.

Also, Minnesota's offense is one that Favre is very familiar with, unlike the Jets' offense last season. Plus, by playing in the same division, Favre gets to play against teams he's studied for years. Frankly, both last year and this year, the Vikings were the ideal team for Favre to play for if he couldn't play for Green Bay, grudge or no grudge.

Well, seeing as they basically have no choice but to start Sanchez and hope for the best. . . .

cf. New England, where you have the best QB in the game to mentor the young QBs, and they can learn knowing that they're not likely to be thrown in the deep end, either.

I'm not sure how you figure Favre is responsible for this, though. It's not his fault if the team didn't bring in a veteran because it was thinking of going with Clemens prior to the draft.

I love it. I hope he plays 10 more years - for 10 different teams.

I am so sick of the favre crap, every year with the same ****. if anyone else in football did this they would be blasted in the media for being selfish, but favre gets a free pass because the press loves him
