5) Brady to Moss connection going strong. At one point in 11 on 11 work, quarterback Tom Brady dialed up a long bomb over the middle to receiver Randy Moss. The pass was longer than 50 yards, with Moss splitting safeties Patrick Chung and James Sanders to haul in the pass as he threatened the deep part of the field. A big part of OTAs and minicamp seems to be Brady and Moss trying to get on the same page, and this was one example of how they are doing so -- as well as showing Brady's arm strength and ability to step into throws.

THIS put a big smile on my face. :D

I just wish this team had a strong armed quarterback like a Kyle Boller or a Jamarcus Russell....

Tommy won't miss a beat despite all the gloom and doom prognostications :D

This is actually what I don't understand about football fans & media (not you, Deus, I obv got the sarcasm). Why are so many people obsessed with the "gunslinger-type" ? In recent years, they have been completely outclassed by cerebral, acurate passers who study the playbook. Denver : they're better off with Orton, who wins and takes care of the ball.

I know I'm a bit off on a tangent, but seriously ? People haven't been watching. The only real winner who was a bit of a risk-taker or "slinger" recently has been Ben R... and I have to think that their dominating defense has covered up some of his mistakes. Am I way off here ? What is with the obsession with Cutler, Favre, Russell, etc ?

Sanders blew it again!

Where are all the Patrick Chung Can Do it posts when we need it..

More (Brady) Observations from practice

AFC East - ESPN

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- I felt like I'd smuggled a spy into the New England Patriots' compound.

But we both were wearing club-issued media credentials, just a couple reporters watching Wednesday's minicamp session.

The major difference, though, was that she's a lot smarter than I am. ESPN's injury expert, Stephania Bell, sat with me in the metal bleachers above the Patriots' upper practice fields and provided running commentary of how Tom Brady looked through her trained eyes.

Bell got her first glimpse since Brady's left knee crumpled last year on opening day. What she saw exceeded her already high expectations.

"The thing that's most impressive to me is how fluid he looks, that three-step drop, his motion, transitioning from the drop to throwing across his body," said Bell, a physical therapist who specializes in athletes and performing artists. "There's no hitch. There's no halting. It's all very smooth."

I found this at the minutemen forum at patriots insiders. There is no way in hell that I would go near ESPN's website. :p
Anyway, despite the source, I have another big smile on my face. :D

An important note from this mandatory mini-camp is the absence of starting DE Ty Warren, ILB Jerod Mayo, and S Brandon Meriweather. Given that they also missed the OTA's, presumably all three are injured and recovering from unnamed procedures.

Warren we know was injured last season, played through the injuries, and had several procedures after the season.

Also note that RB Sammy Morris is out. It's harder to project the 'starting' running back spot, although he has certainly earned the nod based on performance.

The absences of S Ray Ventrone and CB Mike Richardson don't help their longer odds to make the team, given the new depth in the secondary.

look at this excerpt:

During stretching, receiver Randy Moss left the offensive side of the field and stretched next to Wilfork.

BB up to his old tricks?

also regarding the physical therapist....i think a man would have given more objective commentary no? (thats a joke for the ladies on this board)

We have arguably the best QB in the game. Be happy with what you got.
