The trash talking in the AFC East is getting to fever pitch. Channing Crowder weighs in with the funniest trash talking of the offseason so far.

"Oh, he's going crazy," Crowder said of Ryan. "He's going absolutely nuts. I know it's his first chance to be a head coach, and I know he's excited about life. But, like I said, I've never played a football game in June in my whole life. So congratulations to him. He's the OTA, the OTA Super Bowl winner."

That's funny and I hope some Pats players get in on it as well. I'm mean seriously, who talks like Ryan and the Jets players in June?

Do you really think the Pats would jump in on this publicly?

No, but I think it is funny that both the Jests and Doofins are arguing to see which one will win the AFCE, when they are likely to finish last and next to last.

Actually I think the Patriots started it.

Here is my trash talk tracking:

Moss - 2009 offense > 2007 offense; I am the greatest WR to every play the game.

Rhodes - jets will have #1 def in NFL

Ryan - I won't kiss BB's ring.

Porter - As the AFCE champions we are the team to beat in the AFCE

Crowder - Ryan is nuts. Jets win the OTA award.

Only question now is when is TO going get the Bills into the mix.

The poster replies under the blog entry are fascinating. The give-and-take with the reporter sheds alot of light on the dynamic between writer and fans.

In the meantime, I love this thing with Ryan. Fascinating psychological study. He's pretty much a football savant, but an idiot as a human (just like his dad). He doesn't have the organization and horses to back up his silly statements. His will be a very public and humiliating fall. I'm not saying that as a fan, but coldly analyzing the situation.

Now, as a fan, I'll write:

FredEx
Anthony Smith
Rex Ryan

It just makes everything more fun.

Umm... that would be the JETS. They talk like that all the time. It's because of that alternate universe they live in called New York City. They're the ones who hired Kotite and his little brother Mangini.

They're the ones who fired Chad the Noodle and hired the king of the interception, Favre.

They're the only team to replace the "Special Teams" coach with a "Special Ed" coach, and have every player evaluated by him.

So let me get this straight. Of the four AFCE teams, TO and the Bills are making the least noise? Who'd a thunk it?

Answer: Buffalo, NY.

If a tree falls in the middle of the forrest and no human is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

It's his MO. TO is all smiles and goodness for the first year with a new team. He needs to lull them into complacency before he starts his PR Poison stuff. :D

moss talked about himselfin the context of the history of the game.ryan is touting his defense and referring about BB and the message they sent us etc.somewhat different.

TO only has a one year deal with the Bills though. He'll be in rapid deployment mode soon.

They can both go at it all they want while the Pats laugh their way to the bank. I hope we beat the Jets in a fashion that makes the 2007 Redskin Massacre (credit to PWP for the name) look mild by comparison.

We've had the Jets and Dolphins both come out with public comment. Now we're waiting on TO and we've covered all extrinsic motivational forces.

On one side of the ball, possibly. He's already publicly abdicated responsibility for the offense.

I hope our guys keep their mouths shut.

The Pats save their talking on the field, literally and physically. I would bet that they do a lot of trash-talking on the field where they can back it up and don't give the media any ammo. That would be the Belichick way.

I see Crowder as the polar opposite of his numbnut teammate, Porter. He has fun with the media and doesn't appear to be mean about it (though apparently, he went well over the top with Matt Light last year, on the field).

Nope. Only the players, privately. We're going to crush them in September. They indeed have gotten the "message".
