Re: WEEI.com: The Return of Patrick Pass

Ok, anyone who can shed some real light on this, please speak up now.

Re: WEEI.com: The Return of Patrick Pass

That is quite odd....I don't even know he played the last few years...REALLY interesting they would bring him back...teh cuts?? Craig, KSmith, McClinton, Cuff....not really surprises...long shots at best...Pass?? Last team was the Giants 07...for one game...

Re: WEEI.com: The Return of Patrick Pass

Is it possible he could just be camp fodder?

Re: WEEI.com: The Return of Patrick Pass

Well, he is theoretically a fullback, but that's the best I can come up with.

Deus, that was my thought. Maybe you put another 10 pounds on him, and he can take over where Heath Evans left off.

Re: WEEI.com: The Return of Patrick Pass

He is a fullback and a halfback. He was a top college runner.
He is a top special teamer.
He is camp fodder.
We'll see if he is able to pass the Training Camp physicals.
He probably could beat Green-Ellis out for the 5th RB/FB/ST spot if there were one.
He is 31.
He knows the system.
===================
Get a grip! He was signed for mini-camp.

Re: WEEI.com: The Return of Patrick Pass

Haven't won a Super Bowl without him; plus, he was on the Giants roster for a game in 2007. We know how that ended.

Just sayin' ...

Re: WEEI.com: The Return of Patrick Pass

Charlie Weis was no fan of his. I can remember watching training camp and hearing all sorts of colorful language directed as Pass on what seemed like a daily basis.

Pass... wow ! Bizarro.

That's an interesting one. Can he make the squad ? Obviously : yes, otherwise there'd be no reason to pick him up. But wow, as much as I thought he was a solid contributor, I can't say that I saw this one coming... at all !

Bizarro. Fullback it is, I guess...

Re: WEEI.com: The Return of Patrick Pass

Last time I saw Pass play as a Patriot didn't he gladly give up the ball to the other team when falling down on his sore hammy? - What an idiot,I hope he is fodder like some say. - That play still sticks in my mind like he just wanted to grab the leg and let the ball go wherever it wanted to without thinking.

He's been out of the game, he was not a coaches' favorite and he plays a position where the team would seem to either have been set (rb) or decided not to use a designated player (fb) prior to his signing.

I fail to see where being curious about the signing means that one needs to 'get a grip'.

When last Watson and Pass met, he was but the pupil. But Watson is the master now.

Re: WEEI.com: The Return of Patrick Pass

Pass is or was(until he proves himself again) a versitile player who played a number of different roles for the Pats while he was here from 2000-06. The only thing i could see him coming in and actually having an impact on the team is at full back because we are definitely stacked at RB and how many 31 year old fullback type of player kick off returns do u see returning kick offs. All that said the man has to know the system and has been successful in it. he was in it for 6 years so realisticly he could make the team based off those facts.

He also has been out of football for awhile...he was somewhat successful in the way past...I still think a long shot..but one never knows...

Re: WEEI.com: The Return of Patrick Pass

Ouch my hammy!.

I'll never forget that fumble. The worst ever.

I can't believe Pass will make the roster.

Re: WEEI.com: The Return of Patrick Pass

He has a legit shot at beating out BJGE, but I never thought BJGE would make the roster anyways... weird. Didn't see this one coming.

Re: WEEI.com: The Return of Patrick Pass

Here's the latest -- it just came down...

It Is What It Is Patriots re-sign Patrick Pass

Wow, Chris - You gotta love Belichick. The dude's mind works in mysterious ways.

This might be one of the weirest moves of the off season, IMHO.

Every recently retired/cut Patrirot just jumped off the couch, ran to Sports Authority and are currently buying a Ab machine and Solofex....waiting on the phone to ring.
