Rodney fires away at Manning

OMG Rodney is gonna be one hell of an analyst

Rodney and Dungy may go at it live and right in front of our eyes sometime this year :)

I'm going to enjoy watching Rodney because he will be one of the only analyst's that won't hold anything back. I can't wait for him to rip players that other people are afraid to do.

Already loving Rodney in his new form of work. I'm sure everyone else here is as well (until he rips on someone in a Pats uniform down the road).

It's always refreshing to have a guy who doesn't tow the line and says what he feels...

It's annoying that Dungy is going to be sitting there with Rodney everytime the Colts get bashed

Attaboy Rodney!! Tell it like it is. :D

I did a translation of it for a different site. I'll be happy to post that here:

Colts coaching changes fluster Manning

By Mike Chappell

The on-going uncertainty surrounding the Indianapolis Colts offensive coaching staff, coupled with a lack of communication regarding that uncertainty, isn't setting well with quarterback Peyton Manning.

"I don't know a damn thing!'' Manning said during a break for one of the team's organized team activity sessions today at its Westside complex. "These punks think they can just ignore me.''

Moore, coordinator since 1998, and Mudd, the offensive line coach since '98, each retired earlier this month because of concerns with the NFL's pension plan. Owner Jim Irsay plans to bring them back as consultants, ideally for the start of training camp on Aug. 2.

Not knowing the details during the process irritated Manning, who faced losing his two most trusted coaches.

"Someone's butt is just about to get kicked,'' he said. "These clowns can't even keep their stories straight when they're giving me the runaround."

"I'm the #$@$ quarterback, so I'll do what I want. When they figure out who's really in charge here, they'll come ask me what I want them to do.''

Assistant head coach and receivers coach Clyde Christensen is overseeing the offense following Moore's departure while Pete Metzelaars, Mudd's assistant, has taken over full-time position duties. The team also hired interns Frank Winters and Ron Johnson to help with the offensive line and receivers, respectively.

"There's not half a brain among the whole bunch'' Manning said. "Yes, they're new, but I swear the fleas on my dog's ass are smarter than these imbeciles. They couldn't coach fish on how to swim, for crying out loud. Trust me: these bozos are ignoramuses and our season's already heading into the hopper.''

I hope the translation helps.

While I will not dispute the idea that Manning is a panicking whining baby, I have to say two things:

1. He finally got a sack of nuts in the last 2 years

2. His coaches are going to hold him back. Why? Because they are bad. Caldwell was a disaster at Wake Forest, and he'll be a disaster at Indy. YOU WATCH. MANNING IS INDEED PANICKING, BUT GUESS WHAT? (Sorry for caps) He should be panicking.

Oh that is a sweet answer by Rodney. I might be able to watch the SNF halftime show this year....unless that a-hole olbermann is back on it

I don't totally disagree with everything Rodney said, but I also don't think it's as big of a deal as he is making it seem. The only issue Manning has IMO is that he has an incomplete coaching staff in June. Brady and most other QBs haven't had to deal with that. Manning's comments had nothing to do with Caldwell or Christensen and everything to do with the Mudd/Moore situation not being resolved yet. They have had an incomplete coaching staff at OTAs bc the two new hires just got there a week ago and are learning the system. This pension issue should have been resolved back in March and IMO that is why Manning is frustrated. The Colts are the only team in the NFL still hiring people in late May, and that's what the media is failing to report IMO.

they have replacements..........manning just doesn't like them

manning is filling his pants because the only pros that ever coached him have hit the road.........during brady's tenure, he's gone through 2 OC's, 2 DC's, and 3 QB coaches.........

If I may be so bold as to speak for #37, what he is saying is that the whole team is taking there queue from manning on how to react to the coaching debacle. If he shows his frustration that resonates with the team. If he instead didn't take the bait and just deflected the issue by say somthing like "change always happens, its the nature of the NFL. It our job as professionals to adjust and get better evrey day and things will take crae off itself" then the teams takes that approach. And the media has nothing to stir up.

You're not telling me anything that nobody knows. Brady did know whether those coaches were still going to be there by June though considering the issues were resolved in February since they got jobs elsewhere.

I see what he's saying and I agree with the emotions part of it that he mentions, but I just don't agree that it is going to affect how the rest of the team prepares. Manning is a guy who is out there every day in practice and such, so the players will know from that what his mindset is. You think Dallas Clark learned through the media that Peyton was frustrated about the situation? Manning is out there every day working with Garcon and the other WRs on the field and in the weight room, and that's what players will take a cue from. One quote to the press that is something beyond the rest of those players duties is not going to have nearly as much affect on them as what happens behind the scenes every day. Manning is totally behind Caldwell considering he has been his QBs coach for years, and that will also show up as the year goes on. What he said in the middle of an interview in May isn't going to affect anything.
