Pats announce conference call for wednesday

Re: Harrison retires Per Calyton

I'm gonna miss Rodney...... Great player, solid all around guy, Beloved Patriot.

Godspeed, Mr. Harrison!

Re: Harrison retires Per Calyton

Unsurprising.
I guess it's time.

I look forward to seeing him on TV.
Hopefully this safety group can carry on his attitude and focus.

Re: Harrison retires Per Calyton

We will sure miss Harrison and his hard hit plays. What i will miss the most is his game ending INT's. Just a fantastic player. I was hoping at least he mentors Chung a bit this year.

Happy Trails and best of luck R.Harrison

Who is Calyton?

Re: Harrison retires Per Calyton

I've seen a lot come down the pike and he was special. Up there in the Hannah, Brown, Grogan class of competitor.

Farewell.

Loved the guy.

Re: Harrison retires Per Calyton

One of my all time favorite patriots.

In the offseason before he was signed, the rumors were floating that he was visiting Oakland. I live in the bay area....and Raider nation was quite excited. The next day I get into work, and before I even turn on my computer.....I have Raider heads asking me things like :

"Rodney Harrison, huh?"

I assumed he signed with the Silver and Black. my reply...

"He sucks, we don't want that dirty player....good luck with that criminal etc."

they all laugh at me, and tell me he signed with the Pats...

to which I reply "He is the greatest player on EARTH!"

he was a joy to watch, and will never have to buy a drink in Beantown!

I assume he is a Hall of Fame guy, right? He should go in as a Patriot.

He's borderline, in part because safeties have been the poor step children of the HOF. If he'd have somehow got that ball away from Tyree it would have been harder to deny him.

Re: Harrison retires Per Calyton

As much as I love Rodney, I'd hate to see him come back and get hurt again. He gave it all and when everyone doubted him after the injury in Pittsburg, I came up with this sig:

And he did come back and Hell came with him.

Now it's time for him to retire as a PATRIOT. The Chargers don't deserve to have him.

Re: Harrison retires Per Calyton

I'm glad he's retiring as a Patriot but damn :( To me Rodney had 100 lives. Maybe he does- he'll be an awesome media man and it'll be nice to finally listen to a commentator who understands not only the patriots but the game itself:rocker:

You go Rodney:D

Re: Harrison retires Per Calyton

Got an E-Mail from Boston.Com that said Harrison was retiring and going to NBC.

Re: Harrison retires Per Calyton

I'm REALLY going to miss Rodney, he became one of my all time favorites. I wish him a long and happy new carreer. I'm also glad hes retiring a Patriot. :rocker: :eat1:

Too bad. I wish he could have gotten one more ring with the Pats. He had a great career and he meant a huge amount to the 2003 and 2004 Super Bowl teams. Without him, I don't know if they would have won both or maybe either. He was a huge cog in those teams.

Re: Harrison retires Per Calyton

I'll believe it when the 2009-2010 season is over. ;)

Re: Harrison retires Per Calyton

Imo Rodney Harrison is one of the best players to have played this game, his hard hits, his attitude, his demeanor on the football field. I have a ton of man love for Mr.Harrison and respect the hell out of him for playing his way and not caving into what others think.

/salute will be miss tons!

Re: Harrison retires Per Calyton

We'll miss ya #37!!!

Favourite moments. Manning picks in 03. And 04. Defence wins Championships Rodney, Defence!!! (and of course, hard hitting safety play that really takes NO prisoners.)

The team has really lost a vet in the locker room, and with Vrabel gone I hope over the next few years a few guys step up, with Bruschi's retirement looming.

Good luck to him though, and it'll be great seeing him on NBC when we lift the Superbowl this year...!

Blader.

would have been a sure fire HOFer if not for the HGH

still may get in

The HGH shouldn't keep him out. This is football, not baseball, and the rules for the Hall are different.
