feels good to have actual CB's back there before the season starts

it is interesting however that springs and bodden arnt playing together in the same set....i believe most of us had penciled them two as the starters, w/ someone like wheatley the slot back....apparently something different is actually hapenning

Minor disappointment - apparently Redd is an afterthought right now.

He was quoted during the first set of OTA's as not quite understanding the defense yet, and disliking the weight room. And during this set, he is not in the LB mix. Too bad. He sure has the size and speed, but maybe not the right approach.

The corners might not be Law-Samuel-Gay right now, but they are sure a lot better than Hobbs-O'Neal-Wilhite.

We could have the oldest PR corp in the league if Faulk and Galloway are the principle punt returners.

ideally, he's cut and put back on the ps (assuming he's eligible and he's still worth it), and then we sign Ellis for cheap. too bad he isn't turning into anything.
inside = bruschi, mayo, guyton, lenon
outside = AD, woods, crable, Tully, Ellis

Are the Patriots interested in Ellis? I thought that it was reported that they were not.

They weren't interested in *trading* for him, as this day (i.e. the day he's cut) was seen as fait accompli. So no sense giving up a draft pick when you can try to get him as a FA.

Ah, good point. I didn't think of that, I just thought that they were just not interested, PERIOD. BB is very picky when it comes to linebackers.

Still, if they really, really wanted him (or any team did) you'd think someone would pony up a 6th or a 7th to avoid the risk of him hitting FA. So I wouldn't think he'll have any super hot-to-trot suitors out there ...

no, if they trade for him theyll have to take his salary as is, (they could change it during trade, but hell have to sign a new one, which is a hassle sometimes)

but the way things are, if he gets released, then hes out of work, so its easier for him to sign a chaper tender

Good to see the blog back, but OTAs are such BS that I have a hard time caring. It is important for the players and coaches, but as a spectator you really can't really get any real info. Guys who look like studs in OTAs and minicamps don't always even make the 53 man roster.
