The entire pictorial is good: The Big Apple's Most Hated Opponents

But this is a footfall forum so we go to picture #30 & #31.

Tom Brady: It's easy to hate this pretty boy with his Brazilian supermodel on one arm and a man purse filled with Super Bowl rings on the other. But honestly there are way too many reasons Jets fans hate the Patriots QB to list here. He plays for the evil coach Bill Belichick (remember SpyGate) on that evil franchise in Boston. He's too damn good and too damn metrosexual for the blue-collar crowd that floods into Giants Stadium in green jerseys on Sundays. - Andy Clayton

Bill Belichick: Not only does Bill Parcells' blessed disciple spurn the Jets by resigning as "HC of NYJ" at an impromptu press conference in January 1999, he consistently torments Gang Green and its fans by beating them like a drum on the field. Belichick wins three Super Bowls with the Patriots when Brady is forced into duty because then-Jet Mo Lewis knocks out Drew Bledsoe. It is bad enough that Belichick's dynasty is born indirectly because of the Jets, but when Gang Green poaches Eric Mangini from New England's staff, the rivalry gets kicked up a notch. When the Jets lose to the Patriots in a Wild Card game at Foxboro, Mangini accuses his mentor of cheating - spawning the SpyGate affair - and every handshake becomes like a heavyweight weigh-in. - Parzial

How much hate is built up in the Rat's fans :confused2: ...

Inferiority complex at work...as usual with them.

Too damn good and metro for the blue collar Jets fans? LMAO... first of all, good looking does not equal metro. And too good? That explains why the Jets have sucked since like 1960... it's what the fans want!

attacks like this from our enemies are the greatest form of praise.

my only quibble is with clayton's focus on Giants' fans. i think that giants fans as a group are much more knowledgeable and classy than the typical idiot who cheers for the jets, drinks himself mindless (assuming he has a mind in the first place--but then again if my team hadn't been to the SB in 40 years, I'd probably drink too much too) and uses halftime to accost women at the stadium by yelling at them and telling them to strip. on the whole, Giants fans reflect their team's long tradition of excellence and classy ownership.

Bring it on!

We have learned to embrace the hate!

I didn't realize that "blue-collar" had become the PC way to say "uneducated, mildly ******ed goons".

I had the pleasure of watching the Giants lose to the Eagles in giants stadium. Observing the violent reaction people wearing Eagles stuff, it is pretty scary thinking about how the average jet fan may be. They don't one NFL franchise in NY, nevermind 2.

The Green Beans rip Brady for being "metrosexual." So what do they do? They go out and get their own "metrosexual" quarterback from USC. Yup, imitation is the greatest form of flattery.

Apparently, the Mets aren't from the Big Apple:

"The revenge is sweet, though. Benitez blows a 3-2 Mets lead in Game 1 of the 2000 Fall Classic, setting the tone for a series the Yankees win in five. - Marrone"

Well, the Giants represent New York while the Jets represent New Jersey so your answer may lie there.

Apparently the Islanders aren't either. And the Nets are, but the Devils aren't. Pretty liberal interpretation of what qualifies as Big Apple. Not exactly scientific I guess.

yeah, i grew up in philly. giants-eagles is kind of like yankees-red sox or the baltics. you don't want to get in between these people when they are out for blood.

i stick by my assertion that the giants are a class act, in general. even as pats' fans we have to admit that there are a few who support the team with whom we aren't necessarily proud to be associated.

New York also pays New Jersey to accept their garbage ... :p

That is a match made in heaven, Northeastern New jersey and garbage. It goes together like peanut butter and jelly.

From the article....

"When the Jets lose to the Patriots in a Wild Card game at Foxboro, Mangini accuses his mentor of cheating - spawning the SpyGate affair..."

It was the wild card game, eh?

This illustrates what's so demented about NYC culture. There are dozens of athletes on that list that were simply better than their NY opponents. They didn't do anything worthy of hate. Resentment? Sure. Begrudging admiration? Sure. Hate? Only if they run their mouth or injure someone.

good......**** the bastards

I would not want it any other way.

those goombahs in the big crapple are so dense, they still don't get that their boy mangini is a hypocrite and a snitch.
