Mgteich had asked me in a separate thread what players do I know have NLTBE incentives in their contracts

Neal has a $100,000 NLTBE Pro Bowl incentive.
Light has a $200,000 NLTBE Pro Bowl incentive.
Lenon has $200,000 NLTBE incentives based on what I do not know.
Springs and Wright may have NTLBE incentives based on media reports but the media could have confused incentives with salary escalators.

Actually not as bad as I thought. I figured it would be over a million, possibly two. I don't see Neal getting the Pro Bowl incentive unless the Pats have another year like 2007. Mankins would get most of the guard votes for this team.

Thanks Miguel..only those?? THAT really isn't so bad...How are these NLTBEs woth the possible uncapped year..do they kick in differently??

That is all I know about. Could players have NLTBE incentives that I do not know about?? Yes.

As soon as they are reached they count against the 2009 cap. Example - Koppen makes the Pro Bowl. His 2009 cap number would then go up by $200,000.

Thank Miguel...I knew they were handled differently with the uncapped year..Thanks!

Is Greg Lewis's incentive a bonus or salary escalator?
And is there any difference in how those two incentives count against the 2009 cap?

Thanks Miguel.

Is Greg Lewis's incentive a bonus or salary escalator?

He has $1.25 million escalators for the 2010 and 2011 seasons. He must not have reached his $1.25 million escalator for the 2009 season since his 2009 salary remained at $650,000.

And is there any difference in how those two incentives count against the 2009 cap?

If you are referring to the $1.25 million escalators for the 2010 and 2011 seasons, they will not count against the 2009 cap.
