Apparently his 17 year old son Brian was attending the LaCrosse game and got caught drinking - Not as bad as Stephens drug charge in 2006 but nevertheless an embarrassment for the coach, especially in his teams stadium.

For a busy man like BB it has to be tough handling two boys who have done some stupid unlawful things in the past few years.

Underage drinking at 17. Ooooh lock him up :D

As the saying goes, I'm sure the police could find better things to be doing.

Not a BIG deal but still you have to think BB is embarrassed, not for the underage drinking charge but for where it happened.

Waiting on ESPN to report this in 5...4...3...2...1..

Wow drinking @ 17... the outrage.
I'm glad the police are putting away such criminals!

If I was BB I would ban the arresting officer from being a pats fan.
And see if that dude's 17 yr old child is drinking at that age.

Well me and my fellow police officer's would love to being do other things, but SUE happy parents have made it not so. So don't blame the police, blame the parents.

Go read some case law before you open up your mouth!!!

And let those that have never done or did anything stupid in their College and High School years cast the first stone. <crickets>

That really is f-ing ridiculous - a warning should suffice - but it's also ridiculously irresponsible of BB's son to put his father in a position like that.

Hm. Long offseason.

Let the kid make his own mistakes, and be glad that your mistakes as a kid were not debated on a message board.

Much ado about nothing, if it was not BB's son no one would care.. the media frenzy loves this crap.. give him and his family privacy.

It's what I call

EXCESSIVE CELEBRATION !

He simply WANTED to celebrate the return of Tom Brady. Leave the kid alone. :)

Firstly..it's embarrassing...but I have to wonder if this was anyone else would he have given just a warning??? Like police using a bit of discretion with these situations...common sense..WAIT a minute...I think THAT is a thing of the past...Will be interested to know more of the circumstances...NOT a big deal...in anyway..but curious about details.

Agreed - Also, this thread should be moved. If you want to leave it because it's Bill's son, ok - I will strongly disagree with that.

I don't like hearing about this anymore than you do, but I think this board is not the place for this type of discussion.

That's my ¢.02.

Not your fault, you all have your job to do. But don't you think the laws could be changed to make underage drinking a civil offense - like posession of marijuana is - instead of a criminal offense? Assuming, of course, that he wasn't being an ass.

What country you live in? Possession of marijuana, a civil offense?

And is this only because it is Belichick's son?

How about blaming the beer drinker?

Well, yeah, but ...

in a year he'll be chugging through a hose coming out of a keg. It's not like this incident and arrest is going to stop him.

ARREST! Jeez, that is taking it too far.

I could understand a citation. But an arrest for drinking beer?

Without getting too political, the police could have spent the past years lobbying for the laws regarding this to be changed. They've gone in the other direction with their lobbying, so acting as if the cops are against this sort of thing is misleading, at best:
