Listorti and Duckett were cut yesterday (at least thats when I heard)....But only Paris Lenon was brought in....Is there still one to come...I know the rookies don't count yet so the number is decieving but it isn't like the Pats to leave open roster spots. Thoughts and Ideas?

Re: two out only one in.

It's less than 24 hours SINCE they had two openings...I am sure something else is in the works...THAt is quite OK...be patient...if it's like this for over a week..then yes..then one may wonder...but NOT now...
It is 80 signed players...the draftees do not count until signed...and McKenzie will go on IR then..so he will not count. It's also possible that Tate could go on Reseve PUP and would count as well.

There is no need to have the highest roster limit every day.

Who here thinks that we need to have 92 players by tomorrow or the next day (80 plus the unsigned rookies)?

The bottom line is that there are players that will be cut every week, players who the team has assessed and now are viewed as having no use to the team.

not everyday but the bulk of OTAs and Minicamps are ahead and when you break down to positions numbers are important.

Re: two out only one in.

I just checked. It's 90 until June 1, then it's down to 80.
Are you sure?? I could have sworn Reiss said it was 80...and then the 12 unsigned draftees who are not counted.

Peppers would look pretty good in a Patriots uniform...........

Perhaps my info source is out of date. But the 90 (from end of season to May 31) and 80 (starting June 1) are what I saw.

Re: two out only one in.

Probably Greg Ellis as soon as he is cut.

You don't need to have the spot already open; IIRC, the league lets you process a cut "at the same time" as you sign a new player.

I mean as soon as he is cut by the Cowboys. I know NE can sign a new player and cut an existing one all in the same wire transaction, but I think they'd be hard-pressed to sign Ellis before Dallas cuts him. ;)

That is incorrect; it is 80 from the time the regular season ends to the 75-man cut down in August.

right now it's 79 signed and 12 drafted. They'll need to cut 11 before TC which only makes sense if they are not in the top-51 and do not count against the cap.
